you need a passport to go to Kansas?
*marks Kansas off list of places to visit*
:lol: Nah, just booked a trip to Ireland in June. And Kansas is old news anyhow -- I ended up accepting a position at a college in Virginia. I revised the Kansas thread accordingly (and a bit sheepishly). The Virginia gig has better pay and is, I think, a better school (in terms of quality of teaching), so I'm happy. That said, my wife and I were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful NW Kansas is. We're contemplating a vacation in the KC/Topeka area someday, but ended up deciding not to live there.
As for why you wouldn't need to go anywhere but Texas, you've clearly never been to Kentucky...

I'll have to give that a try, thanks.
n+2. Pull a Mr. Gillette and tell a story that doesn't go anywhere. Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for m'shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt. Which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Gimme five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where was I... oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
I might be able to do that if I work at it.

you must post updates to us at all the following stages of aquiring shaving goods..
1. Ask what brand you should buy, and debate the subject. Should be good for several posts..
2. Let everyone know what you've decided to order and that you're going to order it soon..
3. Let everyone know you've actually ordered it and that you should have it in 2 weeks.
4. Post about how impatient you are and you can't wait for it to get here..
5. Yay, it arrived! I haven't used it yet, but by golly I will tonight..
6. I used it! But I can't lather it/I don't know how to use it/what is this awful smell?? so.. help PLEASE??

When I went to work last night, it was 55+. It stormed like a mother through the night. When I came home it was 35. My dad taught me the trick to a successful interrogation is to repeatedly give the subject hope and then take it away until you have broke their spirit. Not at all. Responding to your own posts for an infinite length of time is completely separate from either general or special relativity. If you wanted to throw relativity in there, you could argue that observers of this thread may not see the post at the same time if they're in relative motion, such as messing around on their laptops while on the train*.

Pfft, I'm using QWKRFY (http://mkweb.bcgsc.ca/carpalx/?qwkr).
Strange, interesting yet strange. I type 105-110 wpm so I'm not sure I'd have any benefit in such a change. In fact it would probably totally screw up my rhythm although it would be absolutely hysterical watching the LOTH trying to type on a modified key board.

I also type around there on Qwerty, but it's the sheer amount of typing that causes discomfort. Despite the fact that I type slower than someone who's never seen a computer when using one of the alternate layouts it feels much more comfortable. Just give it a try.

You'll have to provide moral and philosophical justification for your position on such matters, preferably reinforced by scholarly references. You should start with epistemology before moving to metaphysics, lest you build your castle on a poor foundation. I figure that's sure to lead to a 500-post back-and-forth flame war, so there's another way you can up your post count...

I just trudged through 8 inches this morning. In South Carolina!
I'm guessing people will be talking about that one for a few years to come!
No melt-off today here -- tomorrow though. Refilling bird feeder in 8" of snow = not fun.

LOL!!!!!!!
I'm not too sure about that! 35 now. They say a man reaches his sexual drive peak when he turns 18 and it goes down from there. Quite opposite. I think mine is going up.
"Going up"....Hmmm very good and excuse the pun or did you just mean your post count?

I must voiciferously protest this artificial means of increasing one's post count! I find it so offensive, I'll likely post here several times to remind you all of how disapproving I am.
+1 :thumbup1: i agree and claim my additional post

You could just hijack a thread, and you and a buddy go on and on about something completely irrelevant. :D

In Indiana, it melts as fast as it falls. Even if we gets several inches, it will melt off again in a week or two. My wife was working in Grand Rapids for several months until recently. I spent two and a half days up there and we got 18 inches. Yet, we could still get around better that we could have here with have the snow. We have more slush and ice and I hate it. actual snow, on the other hand, is all right.

I don't know what this guy was talking about, but he's a lying liar. Sun came out -- about half of the snow is gone.

Yeah, that pile of gray stuff that hangs out in parking lots until April always seems depressing to me. Is it spring yet?

True Story:
We were on our way to Mobile one Spring Break (read: SPRING break...), got to Jackson, MS, started snowing, the further South we went, the worse it got, 4 hour trip from Jackson to my grandparents' house in Mobile took nearly 7 due to blizzard.
I know it's nothing for our Northern Brethren for whom such events are normal parts of like, but this is south Mississippi and Alabama, for cryin' out loud!
Our worst snowstorms seem to be generated in the Gulf of Mexico and travel right along I-85 straight up through Atlanta. The joke when the kids get excited about hearing the word "snow" on the news is, "Check the Weather Channel for Atlanta." The kids never get it but it seems that if a storm doesn't pass through Hotlana, it'll go past us and hit Kentucky.

I am the cereal disposal in the house. My son and stepdaughter often pick out odd things at the market and then I end up finishing the boxes after they move on.
That's too funny, we went through this for a while. My daughter wanted things that looked good but to her weren't. I polished them off because I hate the thought of any food going bad.

If all Wuzzles are Floobs and some Floobs are Muggles then all Muggles must be Wuzzles? T or F?
