I suggest used limes.

I usually don't use limes for cooking or anything. Would that plastic bottle of lime juice work? At least that will last me a while and I can use it up eventually instead of having a lime spoil.

So the lime idea for witch hazel interests me. Have you actually tried it? One thing I'm worried about it ruining the witch hazel. Does the lime affect the shelf life of witch hazel or fade? Or can I put in a few drops and be set?

From xkcd.com:

"What does XKCD stand for?

It's not actually an acronym. It's just a word with no phonetic pronunciation -- a treasured and carefully-guarded point in the space of four-character strings. "

WHAT???

Women dig this stuff. Seriously. My 6 year old daughter tells me I smell like a tree when I wear it.

Actually, my wife really likes it too and so does my assistant at work. Not to mention it has lots of healing goodies in it that make my face happy.

I'm keeping it.

#3567 Complain in the B/S/T about how your RAD is starting to kick in, without any intention of buying anything.

#8943 Ask what ATG, XTG, or WTG are?

#5465 Post a picture of the new gillette you just bought and ask what kind it is.

#45849 Ask for people's opinions on the most reviewed products in the reviews section, that way you have better odds for a discussion, that or someone will point to use the reviews section.

#439843 This is my personal favorite: Suggest to people to use the search function on the site.. i.e. Why is the sky blue? - - This has been covered plenty of times.

That is a gillette Pitch fork. I wouldn't try using it until you have developed proper technique. It required using both hands and standing about four feet from the mirror to use properly. It takes a special blade that you will have to obtain through eBay. However, if you arc weld a series of SE blades to each tine and the gap between, you may get passable results.

On the other hand, suggesting that people avail themselves of the wiki (or Google, or Wikipedia, etc.) can avoid having to wade through the same thing over and over and over again. I think that an "RTFM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTFM)" post is like spending a dime to save a dollar.

If Jimmy cracks corn, and nobody cares, then why is there a song about it? NARF!

Well, it was only the person who wrote the song that doesn't care. My theory is that the person who wrote the song was a bit of an attention-whore and wanted the world to know he/she didn't care. For all we know, the whole song is some elaborate ironic commentary on the corn industry meaning that we all should care.

Of course, I'm assuming you're not pondering what I'm pondering. I mean, where are we going to find a wetsuit and a duck at this hour.

Its all really just a conspiracy, you see. The guys in the black helicopters invented this little jingle to divert our attention from "the big picture". While we ponder if the writer of the song cares that Jimmy cracks corn, the guys in the black helicopters are busy as bees building FEMA concentration camps.

I see it all clearly now.

This thread reminds me of an experience I had as a young communications officer in the Navy. Ships were graded on their percentages "good" message traffic. This usually meant that the message hadn't bounced because of a procedural error in the header. Being told by the captain that I had to bring our percentage up, I began reviewing our message traffic over the past month. Occasionally, but only rarely, I discovered that my radiomen had inserted an incorrect character into the header, but far more often I discovered that our traffic had bounced because of a glitch "up in the sky" somewhere -- i.e., the message was correct, but because of some electronic interference somewhere it had not reached its destination and had to be re-sent, thus dropping our percentage.
Now I should mention at this point that these messages were prepared on a TTY machine which cut a yellow tape which was then fed into a transmitter unit. Being the resourceful young Naval officers that I was, I hit upon an idea: we had a few loops of test tapes that we ran daily just to calibrate the machines. These went out into the sky, went through a land-based computer, and then and came right back to us. No one else ever saw them, because they were simply test tapes. I told my radiomen to run the test tapes several times an hour. Lo and behold, in a matter of weeks our percentage was at 99% plus, the captain was happy, I was happy, my radiomen were happy, and some admiral who had started the whole thing by pinging on my captain was no doubt happy too.

I helped set up a LAN in our unit in Germany using unit computers but soldier provided cables, hubs, and a router. The guys did it so that during their lunch hour they could play some network computer games (Age of Empires, Tribes, Duke Nukem, etc.) The added benefit is that our unit had a network way in front of the rest of the battalion; we tapped into the internet and had everyone up on email, networked our printers, etc. Everything was both hunky and dory until the Commander didn't go to lunch one day and put an end to the computer games. The soldiers said "I'm taking my ball and going home" and took back all of their cables, their hubs and all of a sudden the Commander can't print, can't get his email... we waited another year for the Army to finally get us the same capability that some gamers gave us in just a few hours.

you must post updates to us at all the following stages of aquiring shaving goods..

1. Ask what brand you should buy, and debate the subject. Should be good for several posts..

2. Let everyone know what you've decided to order and that you're going to order it soon..

3. Let everyone know you've actually ordered it and that you should have it in 2 weeks.

4. Post about how impatient you are and you can't wait for it to get here..

5. Yay, it arrived! I haven't used it yet, but by golly I will tonight..

6. I used it! But I can't lather it/I don't know how to use it/what is this awful smell?? so.. help PLEASE??

The general consensus is that it stands for "What Would Nick Do?". (Nick being a co-founder of the site.) Of course, there have been some quite entertaining alternate guesses!

Thought for the day: Passport renewal is a pain.
