Wow, this thread has gotten so quiet, lately. :frown:

That's the truth. No great shenanigans going on at present. I have gotten busy and haven't been in B&B much over the week or so, and as a result have not contributed much to TAT. Also, I think some of TAT's more frequent contributors have been spending some time in a different bar of late. The beer is nice and cold here. TAT patrons will be back.

From now on, whenever I see a koala, I think of that Superbowl ad where the guy punches a koala. It is getting bad, especially when that was the first thing I though of when I saw a picture of a firefighter in Australia giving water to a koala he rescued. Damn TV, rotting my brain.

Morning all. +1 on wasabi and the pumpkin stuff. I never had a pumpkin roll this past fall. I'm going to need to rectify that at some point. Sushi is something I can acquire sooner -- perhaps I'll add that the the blissfully short list of weekend plans.

Thats what I can't decide. I don't want too hot. Wife and daughter don't tolerate heat well.... but then again, we have plenty of heat and humidity here.

I loved Colorado in the Spring/Summer. I don't think the winters would be good. I suppose I could be happy back in KY. And my license should transfer there easily enough as there used to be an agreement between Indiana and Kentucky. But the humidity is still a killer there. Cost of living is much lower but I would be making a lot less as well.

How about Greece? I can't speak the language, but the weather is much more acceptable.

Wyoming would be good for you. Awesome spring and summers and winters are not bad at all. Everyone always thinks we have bad winters but they are very mild. Sure we get the total of a couple weeks of really cold weather but that is about it. Usually in the 30's and big snows are occasional and usually on the mountain. Oh yeah did I mentiont he mountains. Higher home prices here and the teachers rank in the lower 1/3 on the pay scale. But no state income tax.

I lived in Campbellsville (Taylor Co) for 6 years when I was much younger. (ages 9 to 15). Oh my... I moved to KY from Wisconsin when I was my daughter's age. WOW... I hate it when things get shifted into that perspective!

I doubt that no state income tax will make up for higher cost of living and lower salary.

People are building some houses here in Wyoming out of tires. Apparently they take spent tires and set a bottom row. Then fill with different things like dirt, hay, etc and keep stacking. Apparenlty it is a green thing and tires are quite the insulator. Needless to say I have been able to get rid of hundreds of tires that I would have to pay to get rid of in the last 2 years.

Just hang in there -- spring's coming soon. Here's hoping you'll feel better once the first dandelions sprout on your lawn.

As for housing materials, up where Chip lives I'm guessing that neither straw nor tires will meet with much success. My suggestion:

you must post updates to us at all the following stages of aquiring shaving goods..

1. Ask what brand you should buy, and debate the subject. Should be good for several posts..

2. Let everyone know what you've decided to order and that you're going to order it soon..

3. Let everyone know you've actually ordered it and that you should have it in 2 weeks.

4. Post about how impatient you are and you can't wait for it to get here..

5. Yay, it arrived! I haven't used it yet, but by golly I will tonight..

6. I used it! But I can't lather it/I don't know how to use it/what is this awful smell?? so.. help PLEASE??

apparently you can put a +1 to every post you post too. Aaaaargh, recursion! The mind boggles!

Argue the finer points of repeating a story that doesn't go anywhere with one of your friends on the internet. Reminds me of the time i caught the ferry to shelbyville. I needed a new heel for m'shoe. So i decided to go to morganville, which is what they called shelbyville in those days. So i tied an onion to my belt. Which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Gimme five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where was i... Oh yeah. The important thing was that i had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was in one little fight and my mom got scared and said "you're moving with your aunte and uncle in bel-air". I whistled for a cab and when it came near the licensplate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror. If anything i could say that this cab was rare, but i thought now forget it, yo home to bel-air. I pulled up to a house about seven or eight and i yelled to the cabby "yo, home smell you later" looked at my kingdom i was finally there to settle my throne as the prince of bel-air
