Geez... I just got a call from my mom yesterday. She wanted to know if we wanted to meet them half way to have my daugher's birthday at a mcdonalds or something. Ugh.. no thankyou.

Now, between that and the Mama Morton post earlier... momma has been in the TAT.

I think I mentioned taking my dog to weekly obedience sessions at least once..

So a dog is in there...

Gotta think about trains and pick up trucks.. Well wait a minute... the dog is being trained...

Good call. Mama Bear's soap, too!

"She got runned over by a damned ol ?Thomas the Tank Engine?" just doesn't have the right ring to it.

Maybe not, but I'd definitely like to see the video on that one!

well, that was a darn good super bowl, one of the better ones for several years. it started off slow, 'zona finally went with fitzgerald, they shoulda used him more throughout the game, then a surprising return by pittsburg.
I woulda loved to seen Kurt bring the trophy to arizona, but being a Steeler fan I can't complain.
wouldn't complain the other way around, either.

well, thanks to the amazing web wonder we wnow...err, know as Micah1_8, here is the infamous DHMO review, whaddaya think?

Dihydrogen Monoxide
I got to thinking and realized that probably our most important shaving product has yet to be reviewed - Dihydrogen Monoxide.
DHMO is a crucial element to wetshaving, whether you use a straight, DE, or latest multi-blade cartridge contraption. (Warning: DHMO does not work well with many electric shavers, though some have been designed to accomodate DHMO)
This versatile product has so many uses outside of shaving as well, but we're only interested in its properties as they relate to our stubble reduction here.
When heated, DHMO makes for wonderful pre-shave prep routine. In fact, some more neanderthal-like shavers stop their prep there and start scraping their face, presumably with seashells, unless they're unlucky and have to resort to a Mach9.
DHMO is useful for not only softening your facial hair, but also the hair of your favorite shaving brush, by some amazing chemical reaction causing the hairs to "bloom" and take in necessary moisture for making lather.
When added to your favorite shave soap or cream, DHMO literally causes an explosion of rich, dense lather, and unleashes the true aroma of these fine products we so love.
DHMO is even useful for cleaning your razor between passes.
Not only that, after you are finished, you can even use it for cleaning up the excess and leftover lather you made earlier.
Your significant other will appreciate DHMO's usefulness for cleaning the sink and surrounding counter space following your shave, as well.

Price - For a reasonable monthly subscription fee, you can get a constant supply of DHMO delivered right to your house month after month. Some folks have such conditions in their area that DHMO gets adversely affected, and they must get their DHMO that has been bottled and filtered from contaminates, but those are the exception and not the rule.
Quality - as stated in price, DHMO quality can vary from place to place, but is generally high quality wherever it is located in it's "unused" state (for example, DHMO can be found in your toilet, but I wouldn't recommend it to be used in your shaving regimen)
Performance - this is the All-Star performer of all you products, it literally puts the "wet" in "wetshaving"; if the polls allowed, this one would go to 11
Usefulness - as with performance, the polls limitations do it no justice - a 12; every aspect of your shaving routine is benefitted from DHMO
Durability - If DHMO has any flaws for the wetshaving routine, it is in it's ability to "evaporate", meaning the products you add it to may need a refresh with more DHMO, depending on how long you take to shave, but it's not a real problem, because as previously stated, it is readily available
Packaging - the ultimate "green" product, it is literally "piped" straight into your residence, no trash to throw away, no landfills getting over-filled, another 11 on the poll.
Scent - it's not in the review poll, but the scent of DHMO is another great feature, it's unscented, and will not adversely affect the scent of your favorite lathering product, in fact it may enhance it.

I highly recommend DHMO in your shaving procedure, however, there are, of course, warnings: (this is NOT an exhaustive list, but these are the most critical ones to be aware of when using DHMO for wetshaving):
-may cause burns
-accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals (be sure to get all of it off your razors when finished shaving)
-has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients
-death can occur by intentional or accidental inhalation or ingestion of DHMO, even in small quantities (no matter how tasty it looks, don't drink your lather, Doug!)
-DHMO has been found in acid rain

Still, despite these and it's many other risks, the benefits of using DHMO are far greater and you should immediately add it to your shave den if you haven't already.

Nice...I hope I don't get in trouble for reading it:eek:
well, don't worry, if you do get in trouble and have to run for your life, just take a large swallow of DHMO, and either:
A) get refreshed, and run some more; or
B) drown

wow, life and death in the hands of DHMO...hope SkyNet never discovers this...

Schick will probably jump right to eight blades and call it the Octopus. Not only will using it make you feel like Edward Scissorhands, but there will be suction cups so the head of the razor really sticks to your face.

I was looking at the "street level" view of my hometown the other day... (Yes, Distraction, TX now has street level view) and an idea that has been stewing in my mind for many years was brought to the forefront again.
Here's the facts as I see them:

1. Google has street level map data of pretty much every location in America.
2. Google has street level photos of most municipalities in America, growing every day.
3. Topographical data for every location in the world is available online.
4. Traffic data can be easily tracked and displayed online with at least cursory accuracy.
5. Demographic data for Law enforcement agencies can be easily tracked and displayed (ie. number of state troopers in a given county).
6. Demographic data for every municipality in America is available on Google (ie. Walmart is at 123 Anystreet, Wompwoller MI).

Okay, so why couldn't (and more importantly, why hasn't?) some enterprising young programmer devise a racing game that pulls map data from Google?

You could pull the map data, overlay it with topo to get the general lay of the land, and use generic images to hold the place of either "a business" or "a house" along the roads. Then, you populate the game with roughly the same congestion and law enforcement ratio of the area.

Imagine a racing game where you can scream through the alleys of your own home town.

Hey Internet! Get on this, ASAP!

I'd play that game.

I wonder if it has to do with costs associated with licensing the API to pull the data.

LOVE that movie, just watched it the night before last...
interesting anecdote (not useful, just interesting)...
I dated three lovely young ladies during my tenure in college;
all three have come home with me during that dating relationship to my parent's house, and at some point we watched both cannonball run movies;
my current wife is the only one of the three that enjoyed them.
(in their defense, though, they may have missed some of the best parts...)(of the movie, that is....)

I don't think Art is taking any crap. One of our members just had a sensitive issue that none of the rest of us knew about, mods included, and I think that issue seems to have resolved. No matter what, we are all going to unintentionally offend on occasion, and I think an unintentional toe stepping upon occurred here. Gentlemen apologize when such occurs and that happened here. I had typed a very long response to the recent line of discussion that this has turned to today, but as with many things in my life right now, it vanished due to some timeout error (probably due to my sorry internet connection) so I'll just get to the point. Would you prefer if "this thread" were moved to a social group? That way, TAT is no longer in the main stream (which is kinda sad, but understandable), and yet we TATers still have a place to go to carry on our shenanigans. Just a thought. Oh, and I too was annoyed by the moving and name changing at first, but quickly found it to be very appropriate for the thread and became part of the fun of it all, imho. I'm just sad to see one of the thread word choices hit too close to home, which seems to be the biggest reason for this latest 'nonfun' disturbance.

I need this thread, or something like it right now. It's like therapy.

No, it's clearly a rabbit. Note that the hind legs and ears are fairly short. I would also go so far as to assume that's an American pancake, meaning it's probably only about 4-5" in diameter, so the creature under said pancake would be far too small to be a hare.

God, what's my day come to when I end up debating the differences between rabbits and hares on a shaving forum?

Fascinating. I'd honestly never noticed that (at least, not that I can recall). I'd always just assumed that the text was correct. See, now I've learned something here in TAT. And two pancakes are definitely better than one. Bunny has mad skillz.

(And yeah, I weighed in on the other stuff, just via PM. To sum up, TAT is all that.)

God, what's my day come to when I end up debating the differences between rabbits and hares on a shaving forum?

I have had both squirrels and rabbit. However, given the affection found for those protein sources in TAT, especially waffle rabbit and pancake rabbit, and now citrus rabbit, I was trusting that Prosaffel had not consumed our mascots.

Wasn't the greatest, but the worst part was opening the fridge to see a skinned woodland creature waiting to be eaten. It was a bit barbaric, at least in the eyes of my little sister. No kidding. When I was a kid I lived with my Dad, but I would go visit my Mom every other weekend (blah blah you all know the drill). I tortured one of my sisters so bad that she had a calendar in her room so she'd know when I was coming. She'd go to my Mom on Thursday and ask questions like, "Do we really need to pick Rob up this weekend?" or sometimes it was "Can't we just tell him we forgot?"

Naturally it wasn't anything terrible just standard sibling rivalry. In fact her and I are the closest now of my brothers/sisters. Life's funny and looking back is always a blast.

As far as my comment anout koalas killing babies and the elderly, well that was just a joke in reference to an other thread where a member posted a pic of a squirrell. I know about squirrells first hand, my dad had one for a pet and sometimes the family really did think the squirrell was evil. Luckily it recently died. Evil or not, a squirrel is just a squirrell.
