Emu is quite tasty. I haven't had it in about 10 years, an emu burger, but I remember it being pretty good.
and, on that note...

yes, pics would help, because that one's yours!
my wife still hasn't decided on a design yet, and since I have yours...easy choice
I held a tape measure up in one of the second pics...the top starts at about the 1 mark, and ends at about the 2 3/4 mark, so right now it's at 1.75"...wait, that can't be right!
....uggh, it is...
if that's too short, I can put the bottom at the 3 mark in that picture and trim the rest down...I can't believe I did that wait, yes I can

but really, I've never done this before, how will I know when it is safe to use? It spent about 40 minutes being scrubbed to death with anti-bacterial soap. A couple of minutes it really hot water and as a desperate attempt to get some crap off of it I dipped it in a bowl of goo-be-gone (my mom loves the stuff) as expected it didn't do anything. I wanted to boil it but my mom nearly ripped my head off when I asked if I could use the microwave so I don't think she would have been too happy if I asked to boil an old gross razor in her $1,000 cookware the day before we're hosting thanksgiving.

Dom, I just got out of the Den. Honestly, I just broke out the ole' fat handled Tech with a once used 'swede. I lathered up with my trusty old JF 22mm silvertip, and engaged in a new experience. Now, I am really not a fan of floral scents, so the aroma of C&E SAO is not the greatest for me, but it is not the worst either. The performance of the cream was decent. I had to stop a few strokes into my first pass to wet the lather down a little more. You need a fairly wet brush for this cream I guess. After I got the ratio right, it was nice though. The second pass was nice and smooth, which I would expect from a cream of this caliber. Overall though, I do not believe I would buy the C&E cream over any of the AOS creams. While it was nice, it did not live up too its high end reputation, IMO. But, I still greatly appreciate you giving me the opportunity to try such highly regarded product. Your package should be getting there very soon. Most of the packages I sent out have been delivered.

Happy Thanksgiving TAT'ers (I suppose it's T(A)AT'ers now :frown:). Yes it appears we've been banished to the basement. No, I don't know why but I figure we've either suffered a massive Rick Roll or they're just sick of seeing us in the Barbershop everyday. Oh well, this works. We can make more noise and stay up later down here where nobody will bother us.
Thanks to Rolls. The package arrived yesterday w/ lots of goodies not the least of which is some TGQ Leatherneck that I'm dying to try out.
A word about HBS soaps if I may. I've been touting these soaps for a few weeks now, but I've made a discovery I think. The loose pucks she sells may have a slightly different formula than the pre-poured jars variety. I'm noticing the lather isn't as full and seems to dissipate with the loose puck version. I'm also not receiving as good a shave with them. I would think the formulas are the same, but there's no denying that for me at least the lathers are different. I still highly recommend the pre-poured jars, but I'm not as happy with the loose pucks. Could just be me or my water. Don't know and I'm just throwing this out there.
Ok, happy turkey everybody.

I can't speak for the pre-poured jars but I have noticed my last couple of shaves have not been as good with them either. I noticed with todays shave that the lather dissipated on me as well. I also wonder if I screwed something up when I nuked them to put them into containers. Not giving up yet.
My TGQ soaps should be here tomorrow or Saturday.

Mornin' fellow bottom dwellers. I slept in today and am still sitting around in my pj's. Ahhh...loves me a day off. Anyway believe it or not I did not overindulge the feed bag yesterday. I had one plate of food and called it good. Honest to God that filled me up. Guess all this gym work has shrunk my stomach. I am looking forward to a turkey, stuffing and sweet potato sandwich today however.
I saw that Wal Mart story too. It does cause one to pause and wonder just how out of whack are our priorities. But these are isolated incidents; there is plenty right with the world too. You just have to decide what to focus on. As for Black Friday shopping however, I've never understood it. There's a woman here who's been camping outside Best Buy since Tuesday night. Good grief she had to take time off work, missed the holiday, missed family time (she has 3 kids at home according to the story) and suffered the cold nights. That's just stupid and crazy in my book. There is no toy or gizmo worth that much of my time.
Gonna put up the Christmas lights today. I'm not at all ready for it, but it's gotta be accomplished today. I might need a bracer or two first. btw who's Ralphie?

Hello, back at ya.
Rolls, didn't you say you were a fan of the AOS creams? Can you compare to TOBS or tell me what you like about them?
IMO, AOS makes just about the best cream on the market. The cream delivers an amazing shave while thoroughly moisturizing your skin. Personally, I prefer the unscented. The fragrance concoctions I have access to are tailored to my own tastes by a woman who has known me since before many of you were born. But, if I had to go with one of thier scented creams, it would be the sandalwood.

I appreciate the honest feedback, Rolls. One of the things I like most about the C&E SAO is the scent. Personally, I find it's a wonderful cream to use without a brush. When I'm in a rush or just need to do a quick touch-up, I usually use the SAO. It's exceptionally slick and works great for me. I used an AOS cream once and was less than impressed. It left me with nicks and didn't give me a close shave whatsoever. I'll try some more AOS cream before I place it in my "Do not like" book. I'll head down to the AOS store downtown sometime soon and ask for a sample. I'll be sure to relay the results to you.
Also, thanks for giving me the heads up on the package. I'll let you know as soon as I get it.

The best they have is between the sandalwood and the unscented. Honestly, the sandalwood may be just a tad slicker due to having a higher oil content, but most would never notice the difference.

A) Congrats on the 2,000 !!!
B) Believe it or not.... a co-worker lost her cell phone in the principal's toilet a few weeks ago at the first (and probably last) faculty get together at his place. The plumber tried to snake the cell phone out.. The snake got wedged between the cell phone and bend. They had to remove the toilet and break it apart with a sledge hammer to get the snake out (and cell phone). So principal and family are out a toilet for a week and have a big repair bill all because someone's cell phone fell in while they pulled their pants up. Yeah... I don't think that teacher is going to hear the end of this one for a while...

Took me about 1 minute to have exploding soap all over the place. Swiped it on my hand and wow, that stuff is slick. Can't wait to use it tomorrow with some of the sample A/S that Shep sent me (thanks again Shep)

Technically, I should wait until January. The kiddo's gifts should come before more soaps for me. But I might drop a hint to Mrs. Coyote if that is the case. I do have the TGQ sample set on my wishlist.

Nice pic of the grand daughter Rolls. Beautiful little girl.
Now I know who Ralphie is; yes I've seen that movie. It just didn't click. Thought maybe you were talkin about Ralph Cramden.
Got all the lights up and running. Yes it is nice to do it in 70 deg. weather. I always do it right after Thanksgiving in order to enjoy them for a full month. It's a lot of work to just have them up for a week or so. We actually hit the mall tonight for new pots and pans and a knife set. The crowds weren't too bad and we got some decent prices. Nothing to run screaming down the street over but decent sales non the less. Anybody ever used Ginzu? We've all seen the commercials; didn't know you could buy them at Sears. Anyway we bought them and will try them out. Just curious if anyone has experience.
I wonder where our thread will end up tomorrow?

Morning everyone!! So now we are in the Score, alrighty then. I think one of the Mods went a little too heavy with the cranberry sauce. Apparently, this has happened before, and then the said thread disappeared. Mods, please do not do that with TAT. TAT is a like the "Cheers" of B&B. We welcome anyone to our little world with open arms. It would really be a shame to lose all the great information that is available about so many topics that are hidden within the pages of TAT.

Right now I am fixing me some breakfast. Fried hominy and sausage, three fried eggs, whole wheat toast, and a bowl of Great Grains cereal.

SO, you like the SE's. I just picked up one of THESE (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=39925&highlight=micromatic) last week. The one I have is in the box like this one and even still has the original tag, both blades, and the cardboard insert in the head still!! The only thing wrong with it is it somehow aquired a pretty hard scratch on the very top of the head (above the shaving surface, so it does not effect the shave). If anyone wants it, PM me and we can work something out. As usual, I will give TAT guys (and girls) a few days before I decide to sell it on BST.

I use almost nothing else but S/E's I have 6 or so of the open combs Micromatics. They are an ok shaver but nothing more. The older ones are much better. That NEW standard is the only DE I use anymore. None of my Micromatics look that good, although a few are close.

I tend to bite when I feel put down. got into one of the discussions on DE's pertaining to the the TSA. Another member was running down the TSA officers. When I stated that as a security and surveillance professional I was offended he replied that I was welcome to be offended. Then made a reply that I came off as a mall security guard or night watchman. That I should state my job. I told him what I thought about him. (California F*&^head) and got hammered for a month over it. Really had nothing to do with the discussion of the Safety blades on the plane. ( for the TSA a safety razor and blades refer to what we here call a Cartridge Razor.) I have spent almost 10 years as captain of Security companys, and almost 3 as a casino surveillance agent. I do not back away from guys like that when they want to run the Security guys down. (rant off)

Trucks are our specialty. However, I basically only buy 99 and newer, don't get much of the older stuff. Let me know if you need anything and I will see if my hotline pops anything up in your neck of the woods. He/She seems like an idiot, look at the posts. Nothing even remotely intelligent in there. The only long post is that stupid video.
