Due to the counter culture of the 1960s reacting to the music of their parents (a.k.a. Lawrence Welk) the Baby Boomer generation deemed it the most uncool of instruments.

Since my parents were a part of the 1960's counter culture, and my generation is having the same reaction to them....wouldn't that mean that accrodions are cool again?

Besides, I'm not even sure that pop culture influences the Czardom.

Then again, either way is fine with me. I'm indifferent to accordions.

You're probably right. It was fun, it just sounded worse than an accordion (IMO). Haha.

P.S. I'm a little disappointed that no one ran with this:

Who do you mean?

someone else - "The Who"

me - "That's what I'm asking you. 'Who?'"

someone else - "Who, the band."

me - "I don't know who. That's why I'm asking you. Who is it?"

The Steward program is a relatively new thing. Stewards have no enforcement responsibilities, as the Mods do. They are mostly liaisons for members to go to with questions and advice to take some of the burden off the Mods. Also, research and development. Stewards look for things to suggest, try, or look into to improve B&B. Also, the Mod team give them projects and run ideas past the Stewards before rolling some things out. Stewards are supposed to rotate so as to keep things fresh. But some stay in longer than others.

So, my update: Looks like I may be getting a new apartment this month. I applied today and they had already called my landlord for reference before I even got home. My girlfriend and I looked at several but this is a nice neighborhood and close to work, cheap, and the chick in the office is beautiful! lol I am pretty excited about it.

Where? UP?, TC? My brother-in-law says he gets a lot of lake effect in TC.

Just north of Lansing back in Dec. It started with a day of rain then the temp. dropped and it switched over to super wet snow. I've seen wet snows before but never had it hit my trees so hard. It broke about 2/3 of the limbs out of my one little guy. :crying: My husband had to go out with the chainsaw to clean the mess up. The city ended up sending out a crew to grind up all the downed limbs around town.

It weird that this has so far been the mildest winter that I can recall and I've already had more damage to my trees than any winter in the over 20 years that we've lived here.

I'm loving this winter so far. Nice and mild and only 2 hours to man made snow.

BTW, Mrs. OldSaw is from Midland.

Nearly hit one, but some kid on a snowboard flattened him before I could get there. Then all of his buddies did a skid stop, buried him in a pile of snow and then used the mogul as a jump.

Better luck next time.

Iron Mountain. Mostly made snow. These new snow cannons make some pretty fine snow. It was an absoposolutely fabulous day to be on the hill.

Nice area. Sounds fun.

Our offer on the house was accepted. It is a very tiny little house, kinda like a cottage, with no garage and best of all... no mortgage!

The ironic thing is that this house is right next door to my first house that I bought nearly 25 years ago. I knew the original owner/builder. It is the smallest house on the block and is exactly what we were looking for. Small, cheap and in a decent neighborhood. We found plenty of small, crappy houses and cheap houses in crappy neighborhoods, but finding a cheap house in a nice neighborhood isn't easy.

Thanks Rich. Well, we certainly didn't need an extra house when we were out on the road. However, now that I am back behind a desk we need a permanent residence in town. I'm glad I won't have to renew the lease on our apartment.

The nice thing about having a tiny house is that our overhead will be low enough to allow us to save up enough to build a new cottage at our place in northern Wisconsin.

My number one pet peeve with all houses is property tax! It is the single most unfair tax that I know of. When you buy a car, you may pay sales tax when you buy it, but not every year. If your income goes down so does your income tax. If you have no income you don't pay any income tax. But your house gets taxed every year whether you made money or not.

Stocks all sold. Took a few hits as the market is down today. I thought about waiting until Tuesday (Monday is a banking and brokerage holiday) but was afraid that with the news about the down grading of the Euro, that next week could be a steady decline and I no longer have the time to wait for a recovery.

My stocks were all rock solid stuff, so I still realized an overall gain, just down a few hundred from yesterday. It could rally back strong on Tuesday, but I only have a limited time to make this all happen. So anyway, it will take until next week Thursday before I can actually get the cash, but we have a month to close, unless we decide to go sooner.
