In fact can you believe they told me not to use the shavette to clean up the neckline?!? I've been using one since day one as I knew how to do it before I started this course and am very capable but apparently it's "not a required skill" so I was told not to do it as I wouldn't be assessed on it.
Luckily my client Michael only has a couple of stray neck hairs I just cut with the detailer.

No, I hear you. Conservation should an everyday thing.
As for the commercialization of religious holidays, I agree with you there too. It's sickening to be honest. I mean nowadays to the casual observer Christmas is the major Christian holiday not Easter. Not only that, but Christmas is about shopping rather than the birth of Christ.
And Easter and Good Friday? It is all about peeps, painted eggs and chocolate bunny rabbits rather than sacrifice, redemption and the Crucifiction. Well unless you're the Pastor Terry Jones. In that case, Good Friday is all about trying to stir up trouble where there is none. Coming into Dearborn on not only the day of Jumu'ah, but on Good Friday, armed, to supposedly protest radical Islam? Someone is totally missing the meaning on Christ's teachings.

No harm, no foul.

From the EARTH DAY thread:
A friend of mine wrote an article for Earth Day. How much greener we were fifty years ago. There were no plastic bags. Milk, pop, beer bottles were all turned to be reused. Mom put the laundry out on the line. In the article he mentioned wet shaving. Every morning we are doing our part for the earth.
We are not filling the landfills with plastic razors, cartridges, aerosol cans of goop. When a blade is done that's all we are adding one thin blade. Wet shaving is the greener way to shave. As you shave this morning the earth thanks you.

Ugh, Earth Day. It serves to takes people's minds off of Good Friday and Easter and worship "mother Earth". Oh, sure Easter is also plastered on the tv screens, but its just to sell products. It's like the new Christmas for commercialization. I'm so dang good and ready for a conservative resurgence in this country. Please, hurry. :mad3:
There. I said it. You can crucify me on a cross of plastic bags if you want to, but I cannot in good conscience watch promoting Earth Day as though it were a religious holiday. I am for conservation efforts, but if its good for one day, then it is good for all days to be more Earth friendly. Just don't go forcing this New Age religion down my throat. :glare:
Oh, and no this is not directed at anyone here. Sorry fellars. Just having one of those days here at the college. Oh, and if anyone agrees with me on this topic, please let me know. I'd like to know I'm not alone. And if you don't agree, it's ok. I am not looking for an argument. :tongue_sm

Since I'm a company driver I don't pay for the service, it just costs me lost work days. The company just can't seem to keep enough qualified technicians (probably too cheap to pay them right). I think the entire night shift is there to simply grease, change tires and pretend like they're working on trucks. This is the second or third time now that they spent an entire night shift playing with my truck and not fixing it. Then a day shift mechanic fixes it in just a couple of hours.

There is a lot to be said for gentlemanly behavior. While it is essentially human wisdom and therefore folly, behaving like a gentlemen is still the best folly available. A gentlemen may not observe the mentioned holiday, but he certainly would not denounce someone publicly for someone acknowledging the presence of said holiday.
If someone wishes me a beautiful Yom Kippur or such, I'd say thank you and be on my way with a tip of the hat. Why is that so hard for some people?

I actually had veal cuttlets for dinner tonight... breaded and in some kinda wonderful brown sauce with pancetta and kalamata olives.
I've never had kalamata olives in brown sauce. Sounds....interesting! :thumbup1:

It isn't?
Well, this is from Wikipedia:
Loris is the common name for the strepsirrhine primates of the subfamily Lorinae in family Lorisidae. Loris is one genus in this subfamily and includes the slender lorises, while Nycticebus is the genus for the slow lorises....Female lorises practice infant parking.
So, apparently, their family name is Lorisidae, and they are either slender, or slow (but I think the slow ones are slow because they are fat!).
And they must drive their children, because they park infants.

OK, so with all this bacon, kosher and Easter talk, here's an oldie.
A retired priest and a retired rabbi went fishing.
Priest: So tell me rabbi, now that we are retired, after all these years have you ever eaten pork?
Rabbi: Yes.
Priest: Well, what did you think?
Rabbi: It was quite tasty, the BBQ pulled pork was mouth watering and the bacon was nearly irresistible.
Priest: Smiles smugly and nods affirmatively.
Rabbi: So tell me father, now that I have confessed to you, after all these years have you ever been with a woman?
Priest: I must confess that in my seminary years I had a brief dalliance with a young farm girl in a nearby town.
Rabbi: Beats the heck out of pork, doesn't it?

Saw an Interview with Neil Gaiman where he talked about the episode of Doctor Who he wrote (the 4th one in the upcoming season) .He gave away a few lines..
Amy:Where's the Doctor? I thought I told you to keep an eye on him.
Rory : He's a Time Lord, he'll be fine.
Amy: It's just what they're called, it doesn't mean he knows what he's doing.

This movie faces the same dilemma other book to movie screenplay writers have faced - do you a)spend the movie in story trying to explain in a couple of hours what the book writer spent hundreds of pages explain in the novel series, or b) do you explain very little of the depth of knowledge of the scyfy/fantasy world and how it works and just try to tell a story.
This movie went with plan 'b', leaving me with a whole lotta  and  and some :bored:.
Well, I'm going to place my stole and brooch aside and put on the ol' Sunday best and head to the church house! See ya!
