Uncool but I bet you could armour the devil out of that thing. Not to mention the amount of ammo and such it would carry. Add some gun ports, maybe a turret, and you are set! :tank:

I just want to say, I think my trip is coming together. As I posted a few minutes ago, this trip is extremely important to me for more then just recreational reasons. But, as you can imagine, my budget is very tight as a result of my situation. So I didn't know if I could afford to go. But, I have been doing a ton of research and finding ways to cut corners here and there. I was also able to purchase a used water filter/pump of a guy from Wisconsin and another guy happens to be driving by there and through Fort Wayne this weekend so he will personally deliver it. This will still be tight, but things are falling together. When something is meant to happen, you just have to be willing to look and see when the doors of opportunity open. When it does, you have to be ready to jump, grab the bastard by the throat and wring it for all it's worth. LOL

Nearly random (but true) story: I was reading a book a few years ago that took place in Britain. A chapter in the book had to do with what happened to a stolen pram. It took me way longer than it should have to figure out what a pram was and why there was a baby in it.

Webster's defines it as a condition of body and mind such as that which typically recurs for several hours every night, in which the nervous system is relatively inactive, the eyes closed, the postural muscles relaxed, and consciousness practically suspended.

But there's a good chance we will end up trying one, even if we return it. We looked at them before but at the time couldn't justify the price. There's no way that we'll know if we like it or not in the store.

So the county officer dry stunned him right in the middle of the back. The interesting part was, the man froze, turned around and looked at the cop and asked, "What the h*** did you just do?" With a tazer, you have two options. You can fire it, which is what you always see videos of. The fires two barbed electrodes that make contact at two points of the target. There is then a five second burst, IIRC, of voltage. Quite effective and fun to watch. I have seen it more than once.

Option two is to just press the tazer directly against the target and release the same five second burst of voltage. This is called dry stunning. It still hurts like a mother but is not as effect. I believe it is because the voltage does not pass as far through the body but I am not sure.

Yes and no. You know how it is when a challenge is issued. You don't have to accept but you lose your man points if you don't. The pepper spray was his own fault though. He, being drunk, made some boast about how he could be sprayed and be back at the table playing poker again in ten minutes. Later in the night, this challenge was accepted by one of the officers there. However, this was because the officer was tired of losing to my friend. He's quite the poker player.

Wow.
I've had to use my pepper spray twice in my life and have no idea why anyone would dare to take it. Even breathing in the spray-back and the wind blowing some in my eyes was horrible and my throat was fecked for a couple of days.

Just out of stubbornness, he was back at the table in twenty, which impressed everyone. But he still couldn't hardly see. He said it was brutal.

I can imagine. I have been in a room when it is sprayed and it isn't pleasant. I have also been hit with a pepper ball once. If you don't know, this is something police and jails are using now. It is a paintball gun but instead of paint, the balls are filled with pepper stuff. I was shot with a single ball just so I could see how effective it is. I was outdoors too, which helped and shot in the leg. So, it wasn't bad but gave me a good feel for what it must be like to get shot properly.

Oh, they nailed him good. He was holding his breath. When they stopped, he thought they were done and took a deep breath. That is when the second and worst spray hit. I'm telling you, it hurt to see.

Everyone always seems to have this ideallic idea of Ireland.
Yes it is incredibly beautiful in parts but some parts are just touristy and Dublin is as multicultural as any other European capital city.

The public transport system sucks everywhere and the weather is generally cold and wet.

Still... It's very beautiful sometimes. I'll give ya that. And it's nice sitting in a pub by the fire listening to some music.
And we have nice bread and rashers and crisps and chocolate.

And it's pretty cheap to fly to the UK or Europe.

Okay fine- we rock! Everyone come here!

I remember two years ago a friend o mine from Canada was planning a visit to me. He'd never been outside of the States and Canada and was looking forward to it. I said to him that while he was here where might he like to go. He thought I ment in Ireland. We ended up doing a week In Ireland and then 2/3 days in each of Venice, Berlin and Prague.
When I told him the ittinerary I had in mind he almost exploded!
And while not the cheapest thing in the world it didn't blow the budget either. We had an amazing time.

I have to admit, I have started to fall asleep on my motorcycle once or twice. Working third shift can be hard. But you wake up real fast when you realize you're about to ride off the side of an exit ramp.

...and don't drive into the back of my 18 wheeler. I don't want to even think about the paperwork that would create.

While you guys get waaaaaaaay more snow than we do you also have fantastic summers in comparison to us.
Every day I wear a coat with a hood here as you never know if it'll rain even if it's sunny in the morning. Yah, once summer gets here it's usually hot and dry for months with the occasional evening thunderstorm. Last summer was wet and miserable and this winter was very very cold, a good solid month of -20... it's snowing out right now so I'm hoping spring will hurry up and be dry this year.

TV from the UK sucks. That said, Dr. Who is by far the worst of the worst to come out of the UK. What a terrible show.

I have not watched Dr. Who but I have to disagree with you about British programing. I enjoy it. But, I realize it isn't for everyone and has a drier sense of humour. It isn't your fault Rob. A cerrtain inteligence level is needed to enjoy British Telivision. That's all.

You say dry, I say boring! People hide behind the "intelligence" argument frequently when discussing British TV. It wasn't fair of me to say it all sucks, because Benny Hill was entertaining and Monty Python is quite witty. With those and a few modern movies (Snatch, Lock Stock etc.) aside I find much of it way too dry and quite unintelligent. Dr. Who is the perfect example. It tries to sound intelligent and its loyal followers try and argue that its intelligent when in fact it isn't and it isn't even mildly entertaining.

That's all.

I'm just bust'in your chops Bro. Honestly, I haven't seen Benny Hill since I was a kid but remember I didn't like it. I loved a show called Faulty Towers. But, I do not seriously believe the that "intelligence" line I gave you. I like some of it and I don't like some of it. That's it.

Tonight's point of interest:

A guy was brought in that had swallowed a 1/4 ounce of crack. Apparently, they were pulling him over for DUI so he swallowed this stuff. He had been tazed a few times before they got him subdued. I was in charge last night and we were short. So, I was stuck running command and missed all the fun. There were four police officer, two security officers, two medics, plus RN' & techs. From my camera angle, I could not even see then man most of the time because they were piled on him like they were. All I could see was this mass of uniforms thrashing around. Eight full grown men were not able to hold this guy down. Seems silly but I have been lifted off the ground by a man from a position where he had no leverage. I have seen and been flung across rooms. It is amazing what the human body can do with a little adrenaline and some narcotics. Even without that, you have super human strength when your brain is not telling you you can't do that. They had to strap this guy down in stages. Just get the restraints on him first. Then he is controlled a little bit and you can go around and reapply them properly. You are exhausted after forty-five minutes of that, let me tell you. My boys earned their pay last night, that is for sure. :thumbup1:

Excellent reason I'm sure.

Well? Was he back in ten minutes?

Yes, inquiring minds want to know.

Just out of stubbornness, he was back at the table in twenty, which impressed everyone. But he still couldn't hardly see. He said it was brutal.

Twenty minutes? What a pushover. :001_rolle

Seriously though, how did he play after that?

Definitely not Indiana. Indiana is still filled with a bunch of hill billies that don't think they are hill billies. But, around these parts, you wouldn't get too far dressed like that.

Hills? In Indiana?

You Irish are so modest.

Hey, Blake! Mr. Crafty crashed the copter and we ended up spending the evening going to a hobby store for replacement parts.

Well in his defense there's not much room to maneuver a helicopter in a wardrobe. :001_rolle

But it is delicious!

Say it once, say it a thousands times, either way we're not getting any bread.

Bread is not boring, shame on you for saying so.

:yesnod:

BTW, did you know that Fort Wayne is the home of the first gas pump?

Sadly, yes.

Hey I saw rob has a animated avatar.
How did he get that?

Because he's special... oh and he's a mod, I think that helps too.

He's a super mod. Or was anyway. He's taking a breather from mod-dom. They must have let him keep it.

A short breather and now he's back, though how he manages it on top of dealing with the aftermath of the quake I'll never know.

You're right. Leave the tazer and pepper spray at home Blake. And for the love of all that is decent, wear some pants under those chaps!

Blake... decent? Never...

And my great-grandfather was one of the team that invented the automatic shutoff on said gas pump. :001_cool:

At the risk of sounding like a geek, that's pretty cool. :thumbup1:
