I'm really sorry to here that and my thoughts are with both of you.

I'm just back from the funeral. Over the last week I had fallen into a bit of a depression but I tell you something... there is nothing like seeing a man, not only have the strength and courage make a beautiful speach at his own wife's funeral, but also to tell some funny memories of her to make us all laugh and smile, to inspire me to dig a little deeper in myself and pull up that strength I know I have too.

Update on Minxy (My wife)

The neck braces is off!!!

If you didn't remember, she broke her c7 vertebra and cheek bone, and lots of Boo Boo's

She still has a sponge like neck brace that she wears when she's doing something that takes alot of movement, but things are alot better:001_wub:

I guess she's going back to work tomorrow, so we'll see how she does.
That does mean that I get to eat lunch with her! I've miss that. (we work at the same place)

And she drove for the first time today sense the accident, we just did a little test to make sure there was no problems.

We got her a new car!

Here is the car she had

89 2500 suburban :tongue_sm

135647

This is what happen to it! :001_unsur

135648
135649
135650

And this is her new bumper car

135651

I hope this will keep her safer if something ever happens again :bored:

but any way, so what has happen around here, keep in mind I've not read anything in about three weeks.

She did that to a Suburban? Wow. Glad she's on the mend though, Jape. :001_smile

Well, in this one particular case, I think it's Randy who would be in the greater danger. :whistling: (no pants bum hugs? eeewww)

Randy did what to Blake?

You will note that it was Jim that first started us down the slippery slope of bumhugs. I am innocent, innocent I say. :innocent:

But do you have a pet monkey who can ride a bull?

Oh! Oh! Rob, can we get a pet monkey that can ride a bull for the TAT? :w00t:

No, twenty-four. It came out in 1986.

Mr. Crafty smokes a pipe. Should he do that (purposefully), he wouldn't smoke one any more. There are few things I put my foot down on, but...

And even when I do, it's hit or miss whether anyone listens. You know some lady wanted to give my kids some extra toys the other day and I said no, but she did it anyway in front of me? Pfft.

I enjoy a cigar occasionally. If I blew smoke in her face, purposefully or possibly even accidentally, Mrs. Jakespoppy would put her foot down - on my lips, with such force that I would never be able to smoke anything again.

Mrs. Jakespoppy is actually pretty forgiving, too, but I do try to be very careful. She doesn't mind the smoke, but she doesn't really want to smell like smoke herself. I smoked cigarettes as a teenager, and even then I didn't like smelling like smoke, and now I really don't like to be around cigarette smoke, so I try to be very considerate of others with cigars.

You may not have to wait even that long. According to an "article" I read today, "serious Biblical numerologists" got together and determined that the Mayans were wrong and that the world will be ending on May 12th of next year.

'Nite Randy. Let's hope you don't bumhug in your sleep.

Dang! My annual dental checkup is scheduled for May 15th of next year. Looks like I'll have to move it up a week. Darn Mayans!

Okay, I really am signing of now. Goodnight. I'll warn Mrs. Jakespoppy about the bumhugs.....Then she'll warn me.....................

Vented hood, 6.0 L engine, mudflaps with silver flames, 14 mpg, and a front license plate with a dove and a olive branch. On the bummers, several Green Party bumper sticks proclaiming "Make love; not war". No mention of pollution though. Then the owner stepped out. Impeccable pressed beige slacks and what appeared to be a Confederate general's double breasted frock coat. To top it all off, he had bi-colored dyed hair. One side jet black, the other silver and combed over one eye like an emo Andy Warhol.

One side jet black, the other silver and combed over one eye like an emo Andy Warhol.

My friend, you just crossed over into, the Twilight Zone.

We went to a late movie tonight. It's been years since I went to a midnight movie. Anyhow, we saw a special showing of The Naked Gun. Maybe I was just tired, but I laughed a lot at everything. Then again, I always loved the humor of Leslie Nielsen.

One of the theaters here shows a lot of movies from the 70s-90s, normally on Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights. They had a series going for the last couple of years called the "Mixed Tape Series" where each month had a particular theme, and you could buy a season pass, but for some asinine reason, they canceled it today. Oh, well. They are supposed to still show movies from that period, but not like before. They will be showing Airplane next Friday night, and we plan to see it as well.

Last night Mrs. Blackfoot and I went to see Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I haven't been to a theatre in a while do it was fun. Today, I'm stuck at home. I was suppose to have the night off but I am now working tonight. I traded with another officer in order to have Friday night off. The PEP party is that night! PEP is Practical Emergency Physicians, the ER docs for the area. They throw an annual party that is an incredible bash. I have never gone before but I always hear stories from it. Then again, a lot of those are not beyond the Statute of Limitations yet, either. So, at least I had one night off to catch up on sleep a little. :thumbup1:

In a completely unrelated note (ie: shave-related), if you haven't sampled Matthew's (mretzloff's) wares and Queen Charlotte Shave, you really owe it to yourself. The shave cream/soap (think Valobra or Cella-like) is great (and tallowy) once you get the loading techinque down (start with a nearly dry brush) and is very slick and protective. The bath soaps (glycerine based) are equally pleasurable to use.

The sample sizes, btw, are very generous and the full-sized tub is very fully packed.

When ?I finally got relieved, I only had one left. Nothing else interesting happened the last two and a half hours. I suppose it wasn't that bad.

Also, as most of you know, we are getting hit with a snowstorm. Actually, I am rather disappointed. I t was suppose to hit around 0100 hours. It rained all day and night. no no no, I've rejected your reality and replaced it with my own
I have no idea what you are talking about. However, I do all my own stunts.

Oooooooo cookies.

I'm in favour of cookies, why wouldn't I be? Rob's wife can bake him all the cookies she wants can't she? :confused1

I will be making cookies tomorrow. Lots of cookies! Lots and lots of cookies! And none of them for me. :glare:

Precisely!
Metaphysically speaking.

Matt, congrats on the Lions win today :thumbup1:

I have a good friend that has season tickets to the Lions. We tease her to death about it but she's a great sport. Her husband, two friends and her drove up today to watch the game. They slid off the road but were okay and still made it to the game. So, for once I was glad to see them win. My friend deserved to see it.

That would have been quite the game to see, whe nyou cheer for a not-so-hot team, getting to see a win is that much sweeter.

I know!

Why is it, any time you work a shift other than your regularly scheduled one, it is a crappy shift? Because of the usual Saturday night shenanigans, people getting drunk and shooting at each other, I was stuck on patient watches for five and a half hours tonight.

Then, at around 0400 it slowly switched over to snow. So, the roads are bad but I was hoping for a good blanket of snow. :thumbdown

Well, there's a nice blanket of snow now. We're parked at the Flying J in New Castle, just a little south of you. The last two hours getting here were the worst as my window washer froze and the only thing keeping the windshield clean was the freshly falling snow and the company is too cheap to put winter wiper blades on so they kept clogging up.

Once safely parked at the truck stop, I picked up some isopropyl alcohol and dumped it into my 3 gallon washer reservoir. Then ran the heck out of it to purge all the crystallized stuff out of the lines. Should be good to go for tomorrow.
