Ray, I had no doubt you'd do well. It simply shows what a good heart you have and how strong a man you are.God Bless you and your family during this holiday and the difficult ones to come.

I did forget to mention the stunt my 2 year old niece pulled last Friday. We had pancakes for breakfast that morning. Around 1:30pm that day she decided she wanted some cold pancakes with special syrup - All detergent. My youngest sister had her back turned for maybe 30 seconds, she doubts that long, when she turned around she was saying, "it burns...mouth burns!" She had somehow climbed up to the top the washer, pulled down the nearly empty detergent bottle, poured some over he pancakes and proceeded to eat away using the fork, no less. The ER determined that she had not ingested that much...only enough to burn her mouth, and make her blow bubbles when she spit it out.

Scary. thank goodness she's OK.

Reminds me of the time my friend's kid (3 at the time, I think) opened the child-proof tylenol. Luckily, he didn't ingest any (hospital tests confirmed), but apparently just wanted to see if he could do it. He could.

The problem with 2 and 3 year olds is that they are dangerously intelligent.

Yes indeed. Doubly so when they are above average kids to begin with.

My son never did anything like that...but my then 3 year old daughter....lets see...a self styled haircut (not dangerous just annoying right before pictures) and then the time she and friends were jumping off a playskool table in her room....in the dark. She of course hit the bed and cut her forhead..5 stitches and on Halloween no less. And to top it off on the way to the ER...I hit a deer.

We made it home a day late and Mrs. Trucker (http://mrstrucker.blogspot.com/) wasn't too thrilled about the delay. I'm going to have a hard time talking her into going back out with me again. Maybe we will only go a month at a time, as I think 2 months was a bit much.

Then it must be one of those copycat colognes, and should be required to disclose, like for example:

"If you love the scent of penguins, cheddar, sable hats, pure essence of "herring-breath belch" that is Lilac Vegetal, then you'll love Tsar!"

Sounds like one of those frags that the individual notes sound like they wouldn't work, but the notes combined make an olfactory bouquet that is.....what's that word.....irrespective...irresponsible.....irritati ng.....or yeah, irresistible!

What a day!

I was in charge last night. The night of Thanksgiving, I knew it would be bad. I had no idea! I expected more drunken domestic problems. We did get a double shooting that was a domestic. Things were tolerable and we kept at an even pace.

Until 0315. A car pulled up to the ER. It was on its rim and sparks were flying! I watched the video and it was most impressive seeing that thing driving down the street. It was even more impressive when I saw it up close. No front tire, bumper and grill about gone, windshield barely hanging in place with obvious bullet holes, and bullet holes all up and down the one side of the vehicle. This car looked like something in a movie. I had never seen anything like it.

I assisted in getting the three victims inside. The only police officer on scene requested I secure the vehicle as a crime scene until more officers arrived to take care of it. So, I am standing outside in the high twenties with no coat. My officers are scrambling into battle stations. lol One of my officers was doing clinicals and not on the clock. However, he jumped in and helped out. We owed a lot to him last night.

Of course, this is when things began to go downhill. Car loads of screaming, drunk idiots started arriving. Chaos ensued, for hours. I never got a lunch and had to end up staying over just to catch up emails and reports. But, my guys did a great job and I was proud of them.

A few of us went to breakfast afterwards at a bar. I bought my guys a round for their work and we ended up leaving late afternoon. We went to the new guy's place for a little bit. Then met my wife and got new phones after dinner. I got home after ten. That is another long breakfast!

Wait, didn't you recently get new phones? How often do you do this?

According to the lost phone report, it went "missing" while driving into the ER with a cracked windshield. Apparently, the phone also got set on fire by sparks coming from the tire rim or some such nonsense.

I always HATED working the ED during full moons and Holidays. I am glad it turned out ok for you though.

No worries. Actually though, that was the first time I honestly thought I may get shot at. There were three separate times. Two of them were when arguing with family members. I've had times where I assumed they were packing and may pull on me but something about this guy gave me a different feeling. Didn't bug me too much but I did think I wouldn't be surprised if he did it because he was posturing and getting pretty worked up. But it was in his eyes I saw it.

But the time I legitimately thought I was about to get shot was while guarding the vehicle. I had three guys trying to get into it and I was fighting with them. I looked up and saw this car driving by that slowed way down to a creep as it passed by and then sped up. I am have wonder if they thought I was a cop and that is why they didn't shoot. You don't roll your windows down in 29 degree weather to just to see what's up. Stupid thing is, I never thought to be worried. I was more focused on plates and vehicle description. The guys were making fun of me for that but I had no where to go, no cover. Might as well have info for the police. :001_rolle

yeah, I use the the touch keyboard probably 90% of the time, and better than the physical usually, but there's just some times, especially long typing, that the physical buttons work better for me. But then again, voice-to-text is pretty dang awesome too :thumbup1:

my other reason for physical keyboard though, and main reason - my last two touchscreen phones ended with the touch screen dying after about a year. But they were both LG phones, here's hoping the Motorola's are better
