I am afraid to mess up the gold, but I will try to polish it. Haven't used her yet though.
Don't use metal polish. Just soap and water.
Nice set btw :thumbup1:

I don't know. I didn't know you ID the year on these.
Try polishing it with some Maas. It should come out really nice. Just work on the top of the case last and try to only polish the high spots to keep the look of depth in the design. :001_smile

Look at the number on the blade guard it will probably start with an "A" or "B".

It is "D236115".
Look at the "D" really close, with a loop if you have one. It's more likely to be a "B" which would put it at the year 1910 (http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/index.php/US_Gillette_Dating_Information) (the stamp letters tended to be more worn then the numbers. If it is a "D" it would be 1916.

I appreciate the moment of silence. Again, no hard feelings. It's an ABC after all. Of course, when your plan goes horribly awry, as it invariably would (I am Blackfoot after all), I would return the favour of the moment of silence out of respect.

I've been away several days, much to long to do a catch-up "roll", but I have read the posts since I was here last, and ya'll have been very busy. Let me recap:
Blake:
- got promoted
- still wears no pants, like on "Planet 51" :001_huh:
- Posted some gratuitous razor porn, which was enjoyed by many :thumbup1:
- asked several of us to "testify" if he is "Shrek Green" - (Yes, he is indeed bright green, just like Shrek :thumbup1:)
Swampfox:
- Provided instructions for dealing with Zombies - (Thanks Ray :thumbup1:)
- Got 2 pairs of glasses (presumably Ray actually does have "4 eyes") which Intrigued thinks is "kewl" :thumbup1:
RichGem:
- Thanked Phil for "cleaning up the Clown House" by closing the threads that Ray was admittedly "post-doping" (Phil, you missed a few spots...)
GDCarrington:
- Provided a pic of Springs1 boxed up
Gollum83:
- Provided a much-needed English lesson (thanks for learnin' us that! :thumbup1:)
- Is "fixed" now (I thought that was only done on pets?)
Intrigued:
- Posted a dog fighting pic, which has earned her the spot as Michael Vick's replacement in the world of dog fighting :thumbup1:
- Was so inspired by Blake's gratuitous razor porn that she posted some gratuitous porn of her own :thumbup1:
Slaglerock:
- Resorted to posting nursery rhymes to get his post count above 18K (Congrats, Rob! :thumbup1:)
- Posted a pic of him and "Mrs. Slaglerock" (???) in their swimming pool
Sol92258:
- Posted pics of an electric bathtub toy (a sure hit for Christmas :thumbup1:)
- Promoted alcohol as the answer (AA says a big "thanks!" :thumbup1:)
DFrancis:
- Of course, provided bacon (always welcome :thumbup1:)
- Also provided "chicken slaughtered whale farts" (mmm, not so welcome )
GFlanagan3:
- Used "bad" and "badness" in the same sentence with bacon (that's just not right!)
OldSaw:
- Is still truckin', and Mrs. OldSaw is still bloggin' :thumbup1:
Duckster and Gruder:
- Tried valiantly, but futiley, to keep the discussion on Fantasy Football
And the usual assortment of miscellaneous comments and pics about - squirrels, kids shaving, nukes, pantless fetishes, dungeon policies, insanity, "gray" drinking water, drinking toilet water, and ear mites singing and dancing.
I think that about covers the last few days? I missed ya'll! :001_cool:

Ladies and gents, I have some horrible news. My sister, who just got married less than two weeks ago, lost her husband today. He had a massive heart attack this afternoon at work, and died before even reaching the hospital. They just got back Sunday night from their honeymoon, and she is in a lot of pain right now.
Her first husband died from cancer in August 2006. A couple of years ago she met a great man, who loved her and took good care of her, and now he is gone. It's madness to me, like some kind of bizarro world bent on punishing her. So, I beg you - if you believe in prayer, then please think of my sister over the next several days. If you don't believe in prayer, then please at least send positive thoughts her way.
The last time I saw him was the day after the wedding. They were dropping my sister's cat off at my mom's before leaving for the honeymoon. I remember him telling me, "I'm 52 years old [he was a good bit older than my sister], and for the first time in my life I'm happy. I have finally found happiness."
Thank you.

Would it be possible for me/us to get your sisters first name, if not here then in PM, to pray for her specifically by name? I know it's not necessary, the Spirit is able to make sense of our mumblings, but it helps me to in focusing when I do pray.
Man, I just can't imagine what she's feeling right now.

Yes. He was in pretty good health as far as anyone knew. My sister had lunch with him this afternoon. He told her he didn't feel well, but thought he was OK, and was not in any kind of pain. Roughly two hours later at work, he has a massive heart attack and dies. It's just bizarre...it doesn't seem real at all.

Thanks. I have to check with my boss regarding the bereavement policy tomorrow. I'm not sure if in law's are covered. And I doubt any arrangements will be made until tomorrow at the earliest. you know, I don't want this to sound cold or anything, but at least she got to have lunch with him today. Similar thing happened to my wife, her mom had been sick for years and years (15 years past what doctors gave her, in fact), and wasn't able to get out a lot, maybe 10-15 times a year she felt like going out to eat, or shopping, or visiting. She had a doctor's appointment in Longview, and wanted to go shopping with my wife, just for fun. They didn't get home til about 11:00 that night, had a great time. Wife commented it was the best time she'd had in years, and almost didn't go with her.
Then the next day....
All that just to say, that at some point, as sad as this time is for everyone, that will be one of those moments that she will look on as...not sure "special" is the word I'm looking for, treasured maybe? But you get the idea. For my wife, it's a bittersweet time, that at least she had the opportunity for that one more special moment, as hard as it is for her to think about it, she still cherishes that day.

In case you noticed, I wasn't around at all yesterday. It was a rather weird and messed up day. I went out for breakfast yesterday after work. I got home at 10:30 at night. Obviously, since I hadn't slept in two days, I didn't go to work last night. It is a crazy story best left untold. However, I played a lot of damage control. One friend will not likely realize or appreciate what I did for him. A new nurse now thinks I am a great guy and is promising to make it up to me some day. Another nurse I was already friends with now has the same misconception that I am a good guy. I am waiting to see if I actually saved things as well as I hoped.
Regardless of how things went, the one friend and I did have some fun in between it all so it was not an entire bust. Oddly, I didn't get too much flak from Mrs. Blackfoot but she was in bed by the time I got home. I expect to catch a lot of flak at work tonight though. I do not miss work very often. And, since one of the persons involved was there since he left earlier than I was able to, they know why I wasn't there. Kind of sucks since I was innocent in the whole thing, worked my butt off to help everyone out, and am the one that's going to be in trouble. No one was able to run damage control for me. :thumbdown Such is the lot of being a friend though.
Sad thing is, as crazy as it was, I really wouldn't consider it a completely bad day.

Is it true that two new "game" threads are going to be started, one in the Clown House and one outside the Clown House?
Supposedly, the Clown House thread will be called "In Before The Lock". I think the title is self-explanatory.
And the other thread outside the Clown House will be called "How Many Posts To The Clown House", again, the title being pretty self-explanatory.
It's probably just a rumor I start...er, heard.

Huh, I remember her dutifully going to the kitchen I heard her getting out a frying pan as I returned to the computer. Oddly, I don't recall anything after this.
:lol::lol::lol:
Mrs. Blackfoot's version of this same story ended with "...and he never saw it coming :001_rolle"
When my dad was a police officer, I remember him getting called to an old lady's house because her furnace was making a funny noise. He said nothing else was going on in town that night so he took a look at it for her.

Trying to understand what was going on was sort of like me trying to understand what was happening in the TV show "Lost". But it sounds like you were trying to protect the innocent...or the not so innocent.
Too bad you get "burned" sometimes when you help out others. But it's good you still consider it a not completely bad day. But you may just be remembering the part where you were in a daze, wondering why you were napping on the floor and Mrs. Blackfoot was standing over you with a frying pan in her hand? :001_cool:

The service will probably be Saturday, and it will be more of a 'memorial' service since it was his desire to be cremated. The weird part is they want me to do the service. Oddly enough, I am an ordained minister, but life and plans changed so I never really entered that field. I have asked myself several times over the last 5 years why I ever did that. Maybe this is it. I have no idea what I have got myself into, but I wish to be a help to my sister and his family, and that is their wish. Needless to say, i am scared. I've never done anything like this before.
My sister has now moved from a state of shock to anger. I expected this, and can't say I'd be any different if I was in a similar situation.

That was a bad moment for me when I made that post. I am woefully inadequate for the task before me (and I'm not trying to sound eloquent or self-deprecating, either), but my sister and her in-laws feel that I am the best man for the job, and the way things are working out Some One else apparently thinks the same.

I had to bring a bottle home from Manhattan*. You can, however, find it on line if they'll deliver to your state. In theory, your local package store might be willing to order you some also. If you live near a "Little Brazil" or a Brazilian neighborhood, you should be able to find some too. Otherwise, keep your fingers crossed for the random liquor store.
* I can find it somewhat locally in CT, but only one or two brands which are not very good, imho.

Here (http://www.drinkupny.com/Mae_de_Ouro_Cachaca_p/s0406.htm)'s the one I just took home. It's very smooth as compared to other brands I've tried. You could drink this one straight or on the rocks if you wanted to. And, bonus, this is an actual 1 liter bottle, not 0.75L.

My brain is tired and tomorrow I have the BIG BIG test for college. I hope I do well. Actually I hope I get a distinction. It would suck to have gotten all distinctions so far and not to get one on this test too.
Wish me luck (or duck... or puck... or other "uck" words - with the obvious exception)
Hmmm...not sure what the obvious exception is, so I'll go with an "F" word - good flock! As in, may bluebirds of happiness be flocking around your Distinction when you get the test results!

Matt & anyone else interested:
Here (http://www.drinkupny.com/Mae_de_Ouro_Cachaca_p/s0406.htm)'s the one I just took home. It's very smooth as compared to other brands I've tried. You could drink this one straight or on the rocks if you wanted to. And, bonus, this is an actual 1 liter bottle, not 0.75L.

.....The service will probably be Saturday, and it will be more of a 'memorial' service since it was his desire to be cremated.
Doing the service will be emotionally stressful, but it will be a great blessing for your sister. More prayers coming your way, Ray.

Ky. men sentenced in bizarre beard-eating case
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (AP) -- Two central Kentucky men were sentenced to probation in connection with a bizarre case in which a third man said he was forced to eat his beard after an argument. The Lexington Herald-Leader reported 47-year-old Troy Holt and 51-year-old James Hill were sentenced Tuesday in Anderson Circuit Court.
Harvey Westmoreland of Lawrenceburg had said Holt cut off his beard and forced him to eat it while Hill allegedly held a sickle blade to Westmoreland and his brother during the May incident.
Holt could not say why he made Westmoreland eat his beard other than that things "got out of control" after some heavy drinking.
He added, "I ain't got no excuses about what I done."
Hill had no comment after sentencing.
As a condition of their sentences, neither Holt nor Hill is to have contact with Westmoreland.

I was right. When I showed up for work, they had an elaborate plot. They all parked somewhere different and met somewhere new. I sat in the break room for the entire time by myself. Second shift called me and told me where I was posted. I did not see anyone from nights until about halfway through my shift. Not even a text. But, I wasn't going to let them win. I played it off as nothing happened. Around 3:30 or 4:00, they started talking to me again because I outlasted them. It sucked but I won. :001_tt2:

You've never seen an out-dated potato? They're nasty! The smell is disgusting! My first "regular" job was when I was 12, working in a small, sole proprietor grocery store. One of my duties was going through the produce and removing any vegetables that were turning bad. The potatos were the worst. Yuch!

Ummm, sorry, I think there's only maybe 2 of us Stewards left. All the other Stewards are now mods, and we got left behind. You may have to call a mod to get help finding a mod. :001_rolle
Maybe if we kept our noses out of the Clown House. You know, that statement was a joke but the following is not. When I hit 25K, there was somebody in my congratulatory thread that had never seen me around. That is pathetic! :thumbdown
Wait... we got new mods? who?
Yeah, and only enough Stewards left to count on one hand. Randy and I survived!
Wait....we've got mods?
Is that like aftermarket parts kids put on their cars to make look cool?

I, for one, think that Chad looks ridiculous with the "chest" implants and the spoiler on his derriere.
Seriously tho.. who are the new mods?

Hey, great and all-knowing Mods! I have a question. I just noticed my post count is back over 25K and I know I haven't posted that much. Maybe I should send a PM but this seemed a safe place to ask friends. If not, lease PM.
