yeah, I used to think the same thing...
true story, awhile back I was sitting around 150 posts, I asked a question about one of rabidpotatochip's, at the time, rapidly changing title. I got a PM response from Ouch himself pointing me to the appropriate post...I kid you not, by the end of the week I was over 300, it was like being touched by the Post-King ignited a spurt of super-post powers...anyway, it's all been downhill from here. Had a response in the B&B-neck thread about clicking "Members List" and then "Posts", so you could see in order who had the most posts, I was quite surprised to see myself on page 2 at that time, now with all the B&B Election hooplah...:001_rolle:cool:

Speaking of random thoughts, here is a scary one.

Imagine if all TAT members were able to get together for one night.

The world may implode. Something bad would definitely happen.

the world would smile at its awesomeness, crowds would cheer, peace would fall, the Titanic would make port, the world would sing Kumbaya, .... or something else could happen
Maybe we could all stand in an alley saying "Yep"

Yep.

sol92258 couldn't get the window closed, so it was easy to get in.

Ugh. I though you were manly enough to close windows, Jim. Guess not. Thanks for letting the riff-raff in. :tongue_sm

http://media.ebaumsworld.com/picture/dusterfrek/SANTA_JAWS.jpg

He's adorable. Can I keep him?

Just got into Florida and settled down. I'll probably be around a bit more than I was in Illinois. I was sad to leave Illinois today. I step foot for the first time in a small midwestern town and realized that I really liked it. On the Amtrak back to Chicago, there was an old man with a guitar and a great singing voice. That certainly helped the few hours go by. This was a great experience.

Now that I'm in Florida, though, I'm itching to get back to Boston. I'm not really a big fan of Florida, for some reason.

I am one of the biggest followers of the Dropkick Murphys ever, and they sing it. They run through my blood.

They must be really tiny to be running through your blood. Have you ever visited Boston?

Mmmm, Mmmm. Just pulled a batch of oatmeal raisin and triple chocolate w/ macadamia nut cookies out of the oven. The house smells awesome right now. This should help offset the salads!

Mmm. Cookies. I love oatmeal raisin. I much prefer spices (ginger, cinnamon, etc.) to sweet. Invite me over so I can eat all of the oatmeal raisin cookies while you eat all of the macadamia nut cookies (we can trade a few if you'd like). The girlfriend bakes awesomely. She'll be back home by the time I get home. I'll definitely be pestering her to bake me delicious goods.

Alright. Sleep time. It's way too late and I'm over-tired. That's what I get for napping on the plane and the one hour time difference. Naps completely throw off my sleep schedule. Oh well.

I am massively tired this morning. I gotta curb those 2am nights when I have to be up by 6 at the latest. Going to the Sharks game tonight. My stomach is asking for chow. I think I'll have a Cliff bar.

I put on boxer-briefs this morning in my haze. What the hell was I thinking? These are not designed to wear all day. I'm already uncomfortable. Crap.

My cousin (ex-in-training's by blood) texted me last night that she's up to shens again. Now she's dragging him through the mud and telling her mother all sorts of fun lies about him. "Hey there, crazy. When did you get here?" The saga doth continue. Continuously.

Let's talk more about cars or something I can wax poetic about and not want to punch babies (or any small creature).

I put on boxer-briefs this morning in my haze. What the hell was I thinking? These are not designed to wear all day. I'm already uncomfortable. Crap.

Let's talk more about cars or something I can wax poetic about and not want to punch babies (or any small creature).

Boxer-briefs? What do you usually wear? I'm a brief man myself. Not the white ones, but these awesome comfortable ones that have an integrated waistband. I've never been able to do boxers. Things flapping around between my legs and hitting my thighs never appealed to me.

Go punch some baby seals and some badgers. Prices of tallow soaps and badger brushes may decrease.

If it had been anything but strawberry I'd have come and taken that from you.

I love strawberry. I'll usually pick a strawberry shake over almost anything else. I do love vanilla as well. Chocolate shakes, etc. just pale when brought to stand up against strawberry and vanilla. It's not that I dislike it - it's just that I like strawberry more.

Favorite shake flavor TATers?

Oooh. A full size one. Good luck with that. What are you going to use as a counterweight?

Also, I agree with Tex. You should make a ballista instead. If the professor threatens to fail you because you made a ballista instead of a trebuchet, then point the ballista at him and ask if he changed his mind.

I don't know how comfortable I'd feel in Texas. Hmmm... maybe I'll hop a train to Texas sometime in the future.

Mornin' gents (yes it's still morning in the west). Shep works an afternoon shift today and got to sleep in. Man that felt grrrrreat! I won't be around much today either. Gotta teach two classes today---non deadly force re certifications. I get to put on a protective suit and get whacked with a baton all day. Should be nice and bruised up tonight :frown:.

Boxer man here. Never could stand that elastic in briefs down around the "tween" and buttocks area. The key to a good boxer short is only using those made from some sort of stretchy material that loosely hug the leg and waist area. Something that will give and pull with the days movements, but still stay in place. Also the waist band needs to be thin so as not to have a bunch of cloth around the waist. Jockey, Stafford and Perry Ellis make good shorts fitting this bill. The cheapo discount store versions that have no stretchiness to them and are loose around the leg will ride up and be uncomfortable all day. And that's a lot of underwear talk!

Time for lunch and then off to get beaten. Have a good one fellas.

Anyone else like the Saw movies? I am watching Saw V right now. The first 3 are excellent movies, well written. The IV was just okay. I will see on this one.

What is with the love for Mad Men? Granted I only watched most of one episode. I get it, men liked smoking, drinking and treating women like playthings. Women liked being treated like playthings. Boring.

Saw was great, but beginning with the second, well...I thought it was highly reminiscent of my redundant meeting with the department of redundancy. YMMV.

Man Men is brilliant. You're doing yourself a great disservice by not forging on with it. The storyline needs more than 3/4 of an hour to develop.

So I figured I'd post a few things about Chicago here.

Can't remember what I already posted, so forgive me if you guys have heard this before.

I really enjoyed Chicago. Big city feel. It felt like New York without the hustle and bustle and with happier, more friendly people. I'd take my beloved Boston over it any day, though. Boston is more pretentious in general (the people aren't as rude as in New York), but is a much nicer walking city.

What really touched me when I first got to Chicago was a simple gesture by a college student (she went into some university building). I was walking in the streets with my suitcase and briefcase to get to my friend's place and saw a homeless man on the street. The college-aged girl just mentioned had just walked out of a Dunkin' Donuts with an iced coffee and a bag of something (donuts, muffins, gold?) and walked up to the homeless man. I overheard some of what she said. She basically asked him if he was hungry and then handed over the bag to him and walked off to class. Acts of kindness like this really touch me. They remind me that there is some good and compassion still left in this world.

More from me about my time in Illinois when I stop being lazy.

Reminds me of something:
I was eating at the food court in the mall the other day , when I noticed an old man staring at a teeneager who was sitting beside him. The teenager had a mohawk colored in rainbow colors: red, orange, blue, purple, and green.
Every time the teenager looked over he noticed that the old man was staring at him.
Finally when he couldn't take it any more he asked, ''Whats the matter old man, didn't you ever do anything wild when you were young?''
The old man didn't bat an eye. He replied ''I got drunk and had sex with a parrot once, and I was just wondering if you were my son''.

Mornin' boize. I'm all stiff and sore today, but it's Friday, and I've got another weekend off ahead of me. This will be weekend #4 in a row off. Man that was nice.

Sue over at HBS sent me that free puck of her unscented to mix w/ my lilac that was giving a bit of reaction. It did the trick. Still has that nice scent, but the tingling is now gone. I now have twice as much product which is more than I need. Tried this once before with no takers, but if somebody wants to give this soap a test and would like to do a straight up trade for something else shoot me a PM.

I was thinking about my college days last night. I went a tad later than many as I was a Navy man first. School was a breeze for me because I had a bit of seasoning by the time I went, knew how to manage my time and was dedicated. That left plenty of free time for playing, foolin' around with the ladies and carousing in local establishments. That sure was a good time of life. I have fond memories of those four years.

stumbled across some of this company's offerings at Cracker Barrel last night, thought some of you fine, discerning gents, as well as my TAT brethren  might find interesting:
http://www.badgerbalm.com/

This is in their FAQ:

Do Badger products contain any animal ingredients? Do you use oil made from badgers in your products?
No, our products do not contain any animal ingredients and this includes badger oil. Most of our products do contain beeswax, which is produced by bees.

Copy the link.
Click the little globe icon up on the tool bar
Paste link in the dialogue box that appears and then "ok"
You will see a string of highlighted text; type your word or sentence in place of that highlighted portion.
Move the cursor outside of the coded area and continue typing.
Whatever you typed inside the coded area will show up as a hyperlink highlighted in blue.

A) I was quoting Doc4, so it's HIS little trick...I've just been doing now, too, since reading that post

B) that should make it easy for you...drop IE :biggrin1:
seriously, with Mouse Gestures installed, I just go down the new posts list, right click a post I'm interested in, move mouse up a little bit, release...link opens in a background tab...next post, same, next post, same, boom boom boom...yeah, yeah, you could hold down Ctrl and click in IE and do the same thing (works in FF too), but then you can't drink coffee at the same time!
Mouse gestures has a lot of other really cool features too...don't have back/forward buttons on your mouse? no problem...hold right-click, move mouse up-then left, release, you just went back a page

I have just noticed we are creeping up on 3k posts in here. Honestly I never could have imagined this silly thing taking off like it did, but I'm glad that you all find it as amusing and ridiculous as I do. In honor of this soon to be milestone I would like to PIF off a couple minor products. Don't go getting all excited. They are kind of lame and cheap, but then again so is this thread!

The first one to post:

"I'm an Almond diggin', random postin', TAT'er lovin' fool" gets a poured to fit container of Conk Almond soap.

And the first to post:

"I'm a Lime likin', bunny huggin', TAT'er lovin' maroon" gets a poured to fit container of Pirates Cove Lime.

Both are souped up with Sheps secret recipe of added extra glycerin for slippery, slickening sillyness. The only rule is you must have made at least one post in TAT prior to this. Thanks for hanging out with me gentlemen, and making the days go by.

Nothing much. In my opinion, Florida is a wasteland. Sorry if that offends anyone, but I lived there for a bit and that is my humble opinion.

I've actually been doing research on laptops in the last two days - my four and a half year old baby is reaching the end of his life. The fan is crapping out, the hard-drive is faltering, the screen hinges are loose (again), and I just fear total meltdown. As soon as I get back to Boston, I'm making a backup and then I'll most likely reformat it and use it as a backup.

Helped my father varnish over some benches yesterday and helped out with random tasks all throughout the evening. Oh the joys of visiting home.

2 thoughts hit me while in Dairy Queen earlier:

#1) I believe I know why cashiers sometimes ask you "stupid" questions...marketing! I observed this conversation:

Man walks up to counter
- "I'd like a small chocolate shake"
Cashier
- "Okay, small, medium,or large?"

at this point, I thought to myself you big dummy, he just said small...but anyway, he responds
"Ummm, large"

:confused1:confused1:confused1

I kid you not, if hadn't seen it, I wouldn't believe it!

#2) While enjoying my food (I did haz cheezburger!), I heard the TV talking this & that Obama, & I thought - and I know this would never work, but humor me, and tell me what you think:
We're all tired of pres. candidates whom we're more likely to vote against than for, so how bout this, somehow put it in the ballot, the person you're voting for, plus either a 2 or 4 year term. That way, people on the fence can say Well, I don't like either of them, but a 2 year term to test the waters so to speak, and if we don't like him, we don't have 4 years of it, and if we do, we'll vote him for the 2nd two years.
Obviously it'd be too complex a system to be viable, but how great would it be?

Movin' right along in search of good times and good news,
With good friends, you can't lose,
This could become a habit.
Opportunity knocked once, let's reach out and grab it,
Together we'll nab it.
We'll hitch-hike, bus, or yellow cab it.

Movin' right along, foot-loose and fancy free.
Gettin' there is half the fun; come share it with me.
Movin' right along (doog-a-doon, doog-a-doon)
We'll learn to share the load.
We don't need a map to keep this show on the road.

Movin' right along we found a life on the highway,
And your way is my way, so trust my navigation.
California here we come, that pie-in-the-sky land.
Palm trees and warm sand, though sadly we just left Rhode Island.

Movin' right along, hey, L.A., where've you gone?
Send someone to fetch us, we're in Saskatchewan.
Movin' right along (doog-a-doon, doog-a-doon)
You take it, you know best.
Hey, I've never seen the sun come up in the West.

Movin' right along, we're truly birds of a feather,
We're in this together, and you know where you're goin'.
Movie stars with flashy cars and life with the top down.
We're stormin' the big town.
Yeah! Storm is right, should it be snowin'?

Movin' right along, do I see signs of men?
Yeah, "welcome" on the same post that says "come back again."
Movin' right along, foot-loose and fancy free.
You're ready for the big time, is it ready for me?

Movin' right along
Movin' right along

I love brunettes with green eyes.

Someone take me out to do something manly.

"Hi Dominic. My name is Adriana. Did you summon a green eyed, brunette Distraction Girl? Want to see more of me and then perhaps go out and do something 'manly'?"

This thread is almost dangerous at work.

I can't decide if I should sit home and watch exactly what my wife is doing or if I should leave. I really don't want to spend time with her if at all avoidable.

I hate to change the subject (I mean, there is nothing that I can add to this thread that can possibly top the last two pics) but I just came from Texarkana with a new wooden bowl of C&E Sandlewood soap and the lady said "hey, another guy from Atlanta was just in here the other day." I replied, "Oh, a big guy?" She said, "Yes." "Ahh," I answered back. "That was my friend Jim." I then proceeded to tell her that Gayle's is the only store in the area that has C&E products and that she can expect more business as long as she keep the currently out of stock C&E BBB and Sandlewood soap.

Small world, especially when you are anywhere near Distraction, Texas.

yeah, but was it on sale? I doubt they'll honor the 20% discount C&E is doing, but worth a shot I reckon

No, unfortunately she was unaware of the sale. She also had no knowledge of any of C&E products being discontinued. She still has several Sandlewood's left as well as some cream in the other flavors.

See... that's kind of a disappointment, Shep. That girl's a real cow.

Oooh. Thank you, Tex. I am very distracted.

Meet my lady Dom.

My roommate gets GQ. When that issue came in, I was appalled at how slutty Meagan Fox looked on the cover. It's kinda disturbing. Man, I'm a picky customer. My friends all think I'm crazy - if I'm just looking, my standards are almost impossible. Thank goodness personality means a lot to me in the real world of relationships.

It is a sad day in Rollsville. My grandkids favorite goat died last night. They have three pets. A dog named Daisy, and two goats, Bo and Luke. Now, it is just Daisy and Luke.

I am going over there in a few to help bury the damn goat. I will chat with you guys later.....................
