Actually I prefer DST. Having lived outside of Indiana for the last 15 years I've gotten used to it. Here in Japan for example without it we have sunrise around 3:00 in the morning and darkness by 7 or so even in summer. I think DST would be a good thing here.

There is really no better way to control the timezones though. It is greatly affected by latitude just as much as it is by longitude. Look at places above the arctic circle that have 24hrs of sunlight or dark depending on the time of year.

Anywhere and as many times as far as I am concerned. We should have refused to treat him when he tried to leave the first time.

Here was the beautiful irony of it. The biggest fit he threw was, as I said, walking to his room. He demanded something to drink. They told him not yet. They explained why but, he was too belligerent of leech to pay attention or care. So he tried to leave. The police, for some reason, let him walk around in front of everyone in the lobby, kids included, yelling and cursing and flinging blood everywhere. He got a 7 Up out of the vending machine and drank it before he would agree to return. Obviously, I don't out rank to PD, so there was nothing I could do since I literally had no back up of my own. Finally, he gets to a room, and is sedated. The patient and his family were quite irritated because he had to wait hours to go to surgery. The reason was, he drank the 7 Up and therefore, could not go to surgery. It's funny how some things just work out. :lol:

Amusing but, that post is supposed to secure the lobby, give information to visitors coming in, and, in general, take up a chair. We have to keep track of how many information request we receive. We average between 5 to 15 a night. So, for 8 hours, we actually have to work 5 to 15 times a night. Considering each encounter may take 30 seconds to, maybe 2 minutes, you can see why we are so frustrated. You try sitting in an empty lobby from 0200 to 0500 hours with nothing to do and stay away. We can't even walk away from the desk.
