Yeah, the deal with Arizona is they aren't sending notices registered mail so they have no proof that it was sent to you. You have to be served in person which they of course do from 9-5 when everyone in the 'normal' world is at work. So far not going so well for them.

I am completely against red light, speeding and other types of enforcement cameras. I think it's total crap.

Meh... As far as I'm concerned, simply considering the chances of malfunction is enough to make a case against this photo radar crap (Aside from privacy issues... and anyway, it's hard to face one's accuser if it's a machine). If we must have police, they'd do better to go after people who are actually driving recklessly and causing accidents, instead of automatically sending tickets to anyone who happens to be going 10 mph over the speed limit.

Especially where they're putting the new ones; NO ONE goes 65...That would be dangerous!

For those of you who do not know, on October 27, 2004 I was in a motor vehicle accident with a drunk driver. I was working at the time. Long story short, I have disk and nerve damage in the back, C8 maybe.
Well, I did therapy for over a year, did the steroid injections and do the medication. Meds are the only thing that helps me. So far the last 4 years I have taken 3-5 pills a day every single day. Naproxen, Vicodin ES, and Lexapro.
Vicodin only when I have the real bad days (couple times a month). Anyhoos, I decided the time had come for an experiment.

The experiment is simple. Stop all medication for 5 days. Here is my story.

Day 1: I forget to take the pills every once in a while so I was prepared. It takes a few hours to kick in so the day was nothing new.
Night 1: Surprises!!! I actually feel pretty good.

Day 2: Hmmm, a little more pain than normal
Night 2: Why am I doing this to myself?

Day 3: It use to be easy to get out of bed
Night 3: I can't get up out of a chair easily. I can't sleep well. Lots of grunting and groaning, SWMBO is not happy with me. "Just take the pills" she yells. This is science honey. She doesn't understand.

Day 4: I can't keep this I am going to take the meds. I don't.
Night 4: Actually that is right now. I can pinpoint the exact point on my back that the pain is starting from. DO NOT TOUCH THAT SPOT!!!!!
Due to its central location it sends pain up AND down my back. I tried to get up and failed. Misery, she is my mistress.


I am 39 and otherwise healthy. A bit overweight but carry it okay.
Naproxen is prescription Aleve. I thought it wasn't doing much for me.

I was wrong. I love you Naproxen. I hope I make it through the night.

I will not continue to Day/Night 5. It is Halloween and the family needs me to walk the neighborhood. Vicodin ES is 500mg. I take 2 of those when needed. They will be needed.

For being such a super fantastic customer Direct TV has given the Shep household three free months of Showtime. I'm not a big fan of the network, but you know I'll take anything free. I'll just get this comment out of the way right now: the new Inside the NFL sucks hard just like I knew it would when I posted about them moving to Showtime a few months ago. Doesn't even hold a candle to the HBO version.

That's not what we're here about though. I want to know if any TAT'ers have watched Dexter and if so what's your thoughts? Also what exactly is it? A cop show? A supernatural show? Both? I saw badges in the trailer so obviously there's cops, but I got kind of a vibe that it's not strictly a cop show. There seems to be some kind of "special ability" thing going on but I could be crazy. As an aside during the opening sequence of the show there's a close up shave scene, using a cartridge of course and shave oil. Goofy that I pay that to such things now isn't it? Anyway, thoughts on Dexter?

Anybody want to do a trade for HBS Lilac? I truly love this soap. All the reviews of HBS are spot on IMO. Great lather, slick, moisturizing, great shave. Unfortunately the Lilac FO is giving me a mild reaction. Nothing real nasty, but a mild heat sensation around the mouth and cheek area. Too bad, because the scent is heavenly.

Anyway the tub has two shaves out of it so it's basically brand new. I'd preferably like another HBS product just to test the waters, and because I really do love the results. However if no one has an HBS up for trade I'll consider other ideas--we're talking about a roughly $10 or $12 value here if memory serves. I actually have a PM in w/ Sue about this issue, but her computers have crashed and she's offline for another week or so. I'll let this ride for a few days and then move over to the BST if no interest exists here. Thanks gents.

but back to rotating. we work 5 days a week like the rest of the world but we work 6 days in a row, hence the rotating.
The unions having been trying for years to come back with a better system.

I also live olives. The green kind. There's a local grocery store that is selling "designer" green olives. Big, fat, juicy spiced up olives soaking in various brines for flavor. Man those things really complete a salad.

Well, it's settled. I am heasing to ole' Mexico in a few weeks, for a few weeks. I think while I am out west I might swing up through the west coast and see some old friends.

Last time I was in Cabo we befriended some strays that followed us around everywhere. Tried to get them into the resort but that didn't work out. The dogs liked us so much they sat outside a store while we were inside. It was pretty cool. That was not the night I went to jail.

Well the tricks and treats are over. Fewer kiddies this year. Still had a bit of candy left over in the bucket. Plus which the little one brought back a bucket of her own so now we're rife w/ sugar and chocolate :tongue:.

On a related note I have no problem with the parents getting dressed up and going around with the kids. That's acceptable and fun. However once you're past the age of about 12 or 13 you should not, repeat SHOULD NOT, be carrying a sack and trick or treating yourself. I poop you not, we had two ladies, I'd say one in her 40's and the other in her 50's or 60's dressed up in costumes begging candy! No kids with them. Not part of some group. On their own trick or treating! Puh-leese, get a life; sheesh. Losers with a capital L in my book.

Not much happening around these parts today. It appears the weather is finally going to break this week however. By midweek we look to finally have some fall temps. coming. Whew, thank God!

Nobody took me up on my HBS trade which kind of surprised me as everyone raves about it so much. Anyway Sue is graciously sending me one puck of unscented gratis. She told me to leave the cover off the one I've got to let the scent dissipate a bit and then melt or mill the unscented w/ the lilac. She feels this will cut the FO enough to stop whatever irritation I'm suffering. Sounds about right to me. Think it'll work.

Whoa, it really has been slow here this weekend. Where is everybody? Probably messing around over in the spoliation thread! Cards playing the Rams and getting beat right now. Big surprise :rolleyes:. My Broncos play Miami later. I finally have a day off and the game is being broadcast here and they're stinking up the place lately. Figures. I keep waiting for the post-Elway Broncos resurgence.

A commercial just came on Fox for the Simpsons. Frankly I have never watched an entire episode. I know plenty of folks love it though. How long has that show been on the air? Forever right? And the Cards just tied the game up on an interception. Nice.

Wow. What Shep said. It's excessively quiet in here. I know I haven't been around much, but when I do get access to the internet, I catch up as fast as I can.

5 star rating? I think that is a testament to our awesomeness, Shep. I believe we can raise our rates. All in favor of changing our rates from free to "Give Dom Pie"? Everyone? Okay. Awesome. I am partial to blueberry, pumpkin, and apple. I dislike strawberry rhubarb and cherry pie.

I still need to fall all my clocks back...most of the devices I depend on for time - cell phone, Palm, PC, TV - all automatically set themselves.
the problem is, of course, the inevitable scenario - you spend 15 minutes going to each and every clock in the house, then remember one more, as soon as you change that, there's a power outage and you get to start all over :tongue_sm.

There's a clock in our bedroom I haven't reset in 4 months for that reason, it's the "power outage" clock...4 times in a row, within 2 days of setting the correct time, there'd be something happen to cause power loss.

Hmmm. Yet another political thread bites the dust. Big surprise there. Let's hope that's the last one for the season. Frankly I'm sick of them, and I don't even read them! Well all except the last one or two pages right before lock-down so's I can see how exactly this or that one flamed out.

And the Cards win but the Broncos lose. Good lord my poor Broncos. What are they to do? Don't understand how Shanahan can coach such great teams year after year and then all of a sudden, nothin.

Well my last week of day shift begins tomorrow. It wasn't as bad as I imagined. Traffic wasn't near as bad as it could have been. The work was easy, and I enjoyed three weekends off in a row. Don't think I've experienced that in 10 years. Good stuff. The pay checks suffered though; no night differential which amounts to quite an added bonus. So I'll enjoy this last week, and then get back to being the night owl I was always meant to be :biggrin:.

Yeah, I found out last Thursday that my dentist appointment to finish my root canal crown would be moved to Tuesday the 4th....:eek:
I went as quick as I could after work Friday to early vote, there's a line about 45-60 minutes long, but I couldn't wait that long as we were heading out of town in about 30 minutes...so, I shall try to get there when they open tomorrow morning, but if that's a no-go, then I guess I'll just pass...oh well, of the two candidates I'm likely to vote for, one has realistically no chance, and the other is probably going to carry my state anyway, sooooo....

Lookin forward to the election coverage tomorrow. I'll get home around 5p and start watching into the night. I don't know why, but I just enjoy flipping the news channels listening to the pundits. This old bird just got in from a trip up into PA. I stopped at a little antique shop and found a beautiful gold Aristocrat and a red tip SS. After discussing the wonderful shaving qualities of the razors with the female shop owner, and also mentioning how it is a shame that these razors are just laying on a shelf collecting dust (instead of getting proper use), I offered to take the lonely razors off her hands (thus freeing display space for other items :rolleyes:). She was just tickled that I would offer her a whole $10 for a couple old razors, so she threw in another "old time shaver" she had in a box. That turned out to be an old NDC fat handled Tech. I shoud have been a used car salesman.................................. :biggrin:
