It'll stink for awhile. One easy way to get rid of the stink quickly is to wash it with a little shampoo and then let it dry. do that about three or four times, and the stink should be pretty much gone. Making a couple practice lathers and letting it dry in between works the same. It works best if you use something strongly scented like Arko or Tabac.

This was our Friday. Things were way too serious and radio traffic was very quiet. Over half the patients in the ER were behavioural health patients of one kind or another. I almost didn't get lunch. After lunches, we calmed things down, but everyone was tired and quiet. I did not want to spend my Friday like this. We needed to have fun. So, I called a few officers that were at fixed post. When they answered the phone, I immediately put them on hold. When I called in my checks, I used funny voices, imitated some annoying officers on other shifts, etc. In a half hour, we were all cracking up having fun. We really woke up.

The Captain on days is not popular. He is super anal retentive and speaks in a monotone voice. He is also a kiss :censored: and always gets the shifted to 2nd and 3rd shift any time his officers mess up. We all get in trouble for things that only his officers do. Therefore, we have instituted a campaign to irritate the crap out of him. When he takes over, we turn the radios on the charger banks on so that when he keys up the base station, there is the most God awful feedback ever. Things like this.

Today, I did the call and put on hold thing to him. I especially appreciated that it took him a long time to answer, which means he was swamped. :sneaky2: Then, during debriefing, another officer kept keying up his mic. To top it off, I chose one day shift officer. Every time she called in to Station 1, I keyed up my mic too. This creates a weird buzz/whine that sounds like a radio being tuned in on an old 50's sci-fi movie. We were laughing so hard I was crying. Even our Captain couldn't pretend he disproved. Not only did he laugh as hard as we did, he started to join in.

This morning was one of the most fun mornings I have had in a long time. I am such a jerk!

And how! We often wonder why some of these people were not taken to jail instead. We asked the officer that brought one of the drunk guys in last night. He said the guy would be out by morning anyhow and he still would have been taken to the hospital, but not ours. We figured out, if they did that, the officers have to stay with him. It is easier to let us do it because they know that we can handle it. The last two times we had to call the city for help, they had to bring in the SWAT team. I am not kidding. The only upside to that is, they have a lot of respect for us and treat us like one of them.

There was this guy attending Michigan Tech at the same time I did that actually sounded a lot like Kermit, so much so that everybody on campus called him Kermit although I believe his name was really Michael. He was an absolutely irritating fellow that used to ask the most inane questions in class, think along the lines of "I got that answer, but I did it a different way. Is that correct?". He was so annoying that this Chinese-born professor from the math department threw down his dry erase marker during lecture and shouted, "Quit asking question! You get right answer? Then you right! Okay?".

I don't know. I've been thinking for a while that he seems to have far too much in common with us.

Hey Blake... looks like Ray needs some "help" today.

What is this song all about?
Can't figure any lyrics out
How do the words to it go?
I wish you'd tell me, I don't know
Don't know, don't know, don't know, ooh no
Don't know, don't know, don't know...

Now I'm mumblin' and I'm screamin'
And I don't know what I'm singin'
Crank the volume, ears are bleedin'
I still don't know what I'm singin'
We're so loud and incoherent
Boy, this oughta bug your parents
Yeah!

It's unintelligible
I just can't get it through my skull
It's hard to bargle nawdle zouss
with all these marbles in my mouth
Don't know, don't know, don't know, ooh no
Don't know, don't know, don't know...

Well, we don't sound like Madonna
Here we are now, we're Nirvana
Sing distinctly? We don't wanna
Buy our album, we're Nirvana
A garage band from Seattle
Well it sure beats raisin' cattle
Yeah!

And I forgot the next verse
Oh well, I guess it pays to rehearse
The lyric sheet's so hard to find
What are the words, oh nevermind
Don't know, don't know, don't know, ooh no
Don't know, don't know, don't know...

Well, I'm yellin' and we're playin'
But I don't know what I'm sayin'
What's the message I'm conveyin'?
Can you tell me what I'm sayin'?
So have you got some idea?
Didn't think so
Well, I'll see ya
Sayonara, sayonawa
Ayonawa, hodinawa
Odinaya, yodinaya
Yaddayadda, yaaahyaaah
Ayiyaaaaaah!

I've been looking for months!
Three separate shops today, and not even a nibble (well, they had a nice ERN for 15 bucks and a great looking dark green fedora which I may go back for).

I think I'm just going to have to break down and throw a couple of low ball bids onto the bay.

These were the first I have found in 4 months of looking. I already have on, but it has a few hairline cracks, so I want to retire it before it is too late. These are in excellent condition, looking hardly used. When I found these, I yelled at my wife, "Jackpot, baby! Jackpot!" She thought I was nuts. :blushing:

Anyhow, one has "Grand Turk Salem 1786" on it, and "Old Spice Shulton" on the bottom with a "6" above Shulton.

The other is taller than any OS mugs I have seen, and it has "Old" and "Spice" separated by the ship with waves and "shaving mug" under the waves. That is all opposite of the handle. On the bottom is "*Early American Old Spice*Shulton, INC. Clifton. N.J.*" and "28" below the "INC". The handle is slightly different on this one as well.

You're alive!

Yeah, I'm alive, but quite busy. This new job has been a handful so far....well....that and looking house shopping.

Excuses, excuses... :001_rolle

Any new developments around here I should know about? Did Matt ever get a life?

Hey! No changing the subject mister! :hand:

Did you get snowed in?

Matt...life...who are you???!!! :scared:

Got eight to nine inches here early this week, but winter is kind of expected in these part so....

Holy crap! Flanagan! How much post doping have you done while I've been away?!?

Scary, no?

You are just about perfect timing for one. In two hours, it will be a big day. Feb. 14 2009 was my join date. :w00t:

Umm, happy birthiversary?

Obviously, what the Czardom could really use is a "Scent Whisperer" :w00t:

Yeah...Monday or Tuesday. I'm tired of it, and I can't handle the gas bills any more. This is nuts. I blame it on Skklog and my black kitten (vengeance for getting him fixed).

I'm with you, man. I've had my fill....well before I came down here.

Wait...you joined on Valentine's Day (a.k.a. Singles Awareness Day :wink2:)? Aren't you married? Shouldn't you have been busy wooing?

(By the way, was it you that was once advising me to keep spare keyboards around? My 'u' seems to be having trouble doing its thing lately.)

See, the snow followed you.

That's what they keep telling me. I did drive through plenty of it to get back down here, that's for sure.

We ended up with about three inches where I'm living (a few blocks from the beach, for the time being), but it was too warm to really make driving conditions bad. How much did your part of NC end up with?here we got 6" which is WEIRD...and I blame you..extra water content

Holy crap! Flanagan! How much post doping have you done while I've been away?!? well SOMEONE has to work...these posts don't post themselves ya know

Matt! Glad to see my position has remained constant.

Scary, no?

Terrifying!

I don't know, but I certainly just cut it, myself. I think my eyes are watering.....

You're lucky. I was getting worried that I might have to set up auditions for Apprentice Assistant Court Jester (but working to move up) position. :001_tt2:

(shrugs) In Montana, they had less snow than normal while I was there. How do you explain that?

But if you have post dysentery, then... Oh never mind! :mad3:

No, no. I think you're onto something here. How can they be 'gems' when you have dysentery? That would mean that...... you're right......never mind!

Don't worry, boss. I have no intention of leaving. You'd never find a competent enough replacement for me, anyway.

Any suggestions? Or are you volunteering?

Well your Lordship - I'd be quite happy to volunteer, however -

Does the czardom really want scents described to them by someone who thinks that Lilac Vegetal is just about the best thing out there?

Perhaps choosing someone with a less controverial favorite would lend more credibility to his prognostications.

Lilac Vegetal is the cats meow!!

Welcome back Adam. Long time no read.

You had Skklog fixed? No wonder he hasn't been posting much lately.

Being serious for a moment, it was a very dark moment in my life. The darkest I ever had. B&B helped pull me out of that. I owe more than great shaves to this site. I was fortunate to have found it when I did.
