It used to be so much better than it is today, I'm sorry to say. I haven't tried the "grilled" stuff yet. We ate at Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville the weekend after Thanksgiving (the restaurant Col. and Mrs. Sanders ran after he sold Kentucky Fried Chicken) -- the chicken there was still great!

I suspended my 5 year hiatus* of drinking sodas/colas/cokes to try a Pepsi Throwback...very good stuff. Takes me back to the 80's - Michael Jackson, glass bottles, with the foam label.

*for those not in the know, I decided to stop drinking carbonated beverages in November '04, allowing myself the occasional root beer or Cherry Coke...only had 4-5 small, 8 oz bottles of root beer during that time until this exception....not a medical reason, just decided I was drinking too much soda - don't know where I would get that idea drinking 3-5 20oz diet lemon, lime, or cherry cokes everyday....

I seen them at Target last week. I drink diet soda so I didn't want to purchase a 12-pack. I'll have to go to a mini mart some time and see if they have a single can in their cooler just to try one to see if I can tell the difference from the corn syrup.

I must say, I am a little jealous. I have never been to the Caribbean. I would like to go to Costa Rica. There are great photography opportunities there.

I am hoping to go on a couple of trips this year. I am trying to get my dad to ride our motorcycles south and go backpacking. He used to go on motorcycle trips when he was young and he has never been backpacking. Figured something short and easy would be perfect.

I also want to go on a motorcycle trip in the Rockies. I have never been that far west. I just mentioned it to Mrs. Blackfoot a couple of nights ago and she seems to like the idea. I will have to rent a motorcycle because mine isn't very good for that sort of thing.

Lookin' like a fool with your pants on the ground

Hat turned sideways
Pants hit the ground
Call yourself a cool cat
Lookin' like a fool
Walkin' downtown with your pants on the ground

Get it up, hey!
Get your pants off the ground
Lookin' like a fool
Walkin' talkin' with your pants on the ground.

Get it up, hey!
Get your pants off the ground
Lookin' like a fool with your pants on the ground

*for those not in the know, I decided to stop drinking carbonated beverages in November '04, allowing myself the occasional root beer or Cherry Coke...only had 4-5 small, 8 oz bottles of root beer during that time until this exception....not a medical reason, just decided I was drinking too much soda - don't know where I would get that idea drinking 3-5 20oz diet lemon, lime, or cherry cokes everyday....

Congrats Jim! That had to take some major willpower early on. I have a friend recovering from a Dr. Pepper addiction who swears he can still walk in a restaurant and point out who's drinking Dr. Pepper by smell.

CR is fantastic, and if you watch airfares on a regular basis for the next couple of months, you're likely to find a good one. Absolutely wonderful people throughout the country and, as you said, great photography with the relatively easily accessible contrast between coast/mountains/jungle. so long as it's not "too after." otherwise the oil may have spoiled.
most food products are good for 6 weeks to 6 months past their "sell by" date (depending) and milk products being an exception (spoil much more quickly).

what KIND of peanut butter and how far after? If it's brand X versus a known band I'd be leery...if it is just a little after use by date I'd not worry but around here that is never a problem..the girl child lives on peanut butter and it rarely stays around long

AFAIK, no, but it also depends on the cheese. (Parmaesan would freeze fine, maybe not so much cream cheese, for ex.)

Throw it out. Especially since it's "natural" and therefore doesn't contain all the yummy preservatives that would make it less questionable when past its date. Or, you can be daring and freeze it for the next time "woman" goes out of town.

Jim, it's the orange pills today, not the pink ones.

Oh, well then that would explain this:

So this is what it feels like to be a gummy bear... I can't walk though, I have to rock... I think i'll call myself BerNARD. Not BERnard. BerNARD. And I'll be a golden gummy bear.

And this:

This fish has got big floppy lips. Floppy lips. Fishy kissy fishy kissy. Oop, took one on the mouth! Not nice.

:lol::lol:

Freezing rain here. Maybe we'll have the morning off tomorrow!

I ate there once. I can't remember for the life of me what I had or if I liked it, but I remember being there. Also, isn't it actually owned by someone else, i.e. not the Sanders family?

Like the time we went over to Shelbyville during the war, I wore an onion on my belt....which was the style at the time...you couldn’t get those white ones, you could only get those big yellow ones...now where was I? Oh yeah, the important thing was I was wearing an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time, you couldn’t get those…

Sire,

If I may be so bold, perhaps in the interests of efficiency and greater utilization of resources, such as our valued Penguinators, may I suggest what I call "The Batista Solution".

Fulgencio Batista did not believe in dirty dungeons. He had a much more efficient, pragmatic, and practical approach. Suspicion of conspiracy against the regime meant a visit by his Secret Police, who would then force feed you prodigious amounts of "Palma Criste" an extremely potent laxative.

Obviously, while running to the, er, "Throne" one could not be plotting against the state, and once on the throne, surely it would give pause to anyone to reconsider their plans, especially since the quantity, it is said, was enough to "incapacitate" someone for at least a week.
