There are three or four main scuttle makers. One of the first things to decide on is how you will use it. You, will want one to make lather in.

Oh, uh, why was I here again? Oh yeah, this week's NoTitleLeague report. Here goes...

Mighty Ducks 119 :001_smile
Bloody Badgers 112 :001_cool:
Defenders 147
Fightin' Gruderians 147
Professors 65

Well, what can I say. I think my score this week speaks for itself. Dirty word, dirty word. Four letter dirty word.

I will confidently say that Chad has a lead that may prove to difficult for anyone else to overcome. Gratz Gruder. It's not over, but it's close. The Badgers and the Profs are too far back... only if the FGruders go flat and the Ducks and Defenders go nuclear will we see a lead change.

Good luck and thanks for the memories.

Now, back to the bow shop and off this here new fangled computing gadget. Ain't natural, I tell ya. Ain't natural.

For this week's report, signing off,

First off, great looking boots!

Second, I wrestle with this problem myself, especially with shoes. The reason you can get them cheaper online is because they don't have to hire someone to fit your feet to a given shoe. In recent years, the only place I've found that does a good job of actually examining/fitting your feet is REI, and a running shoe store in Atlanta called Phidippides. The small shoe store is probably being hurt by potential buyers who try and don't buy, but go elsewhere or online. Certainly most large chains don't have a reliably solid set of shoe experts for each shift, in each store.

Still, twenty bucks is twenty bucks, and you made an individually rational decision to save twenty bucks.

I try to frequent shops that pay attention to customer service, but I don't always do that when I know what I need (like computer parts -- I think I know more than the clerks at Best Buy or Fry's). But there's a reason that Wal-Mart and Target are such juggernauts, and it ain't customer service and expertise.

For this week's report, signing off,
Doug

Good week overall. After the Colts played on Thurs I thought I'd have a chance to close the gap a bit, but nooooo suddenly Chad is a FF god.:thumbup1:

Something to consider. It depends on what fertiliser you are thinking of. If you are thinking big time, then you have to long term. Guns are only good as long as you have ammo. If you are talking civilisational collapse, the only ammo you are going to get is what you have now. Modern compound and crossbows are only good until something breaks. Actually, I have made one longbow, and have another one almost finished that has been in that state for about ten years. I've got the stuff to finish it, I've just been too lazy. I hunted with longbows and recurves for quite a few years until I got to busy to put in the practice shooting that I needed to. I also have a custom made recurve I ordered from a guy in Montana. I also have all the stuff to make my own wood arrows, including a large supply of broadheads...

But a crossbow would still be cool to have, I think...

Oh, I agree! And you can make a old style crossbow, as well. :ihih:

Good morning, fellas! It's a nice, crisp 4 degrees here on the reservation this Christmas Eve morning, with snow flurries predicted through tomorrow.

I hope this morning's Adamflood finds y'all in good spirits! There should have been one in recent days, but life got busy as of late. None the less, here are a couple of jokes to get the day going:

What do you call a cow with two legs?

lean beef

What do you call a cow with no legs?

ground beef

Since we're telling jokes this morning, I have a question...What is the line of appropriateness for jokes around here? I have a slew of blond jokes, a few women driver jokes, and perhaps a Helen Keller joke or two, but I hesitate to use them for fear of offending someone. Any of y'all have some input on that?

Sure seems like the wrong time of year for that kind of mess. I hope the worst is over for you now so you can enjoy Christmas.

Ugh! And here I've been excited to move to coastal SC to get out of all of this icy business.... :glare:

Have a safe trip, though, man. I had a close encounter with an ice induced accident just yesterday. No fun.

Congratulations. I hope the semester ended up on a positive note for you.

Oh, yeah! I got mine a couple days ago, myself. Had a shave with one this morning. Everything was great, except that I think I'm allergic to one of the scents in the one I tried. It turned me red for a few minutes. I'm gonna try the others, though, and hopefully discover the culprit. (I suspect cinnamon at this point.)

I'm glad you made it through unscathed. Tornadoes are my least favorite weather event. They're so hard to predict!

This has been a B&B educational moment, funded by viewers like you!

Merry Christmas, Rob!

Yep, topical cinnamon oil will do that to your skin. Most likely it's increased blood flow and not an allergic reaction tho. Nothing to worry about unless it's uncomfortable.

Ah, that sounds like a very reasonable explanation. There was no discomfort at all. As a matter of fact, I kind of enjoyed the sensation. It felt kind of warm, as I would suspect increased blood flow to feel. The redness only lasted about ten minutes or so, probably less than that (I didn't time it). Thanks for the info, Rich.

One of the two lavender/peppermint scents does include cinnamon oil; tell me your results with the other lavender/peppermint scent when you get a chance? No need to gunk up the TAT -- PM me comments when you can.

I definitely will. I want to reserve judgment on performance until I've used them a few times. Scents are great, though!

ever think of changing her diet? (btw I am serious...not joking or picking on you-some dog food reacts that way and we had to try several for one dog-keep trying and talk to your vet)

The cats are worse when I feed them cheaper food. The kitten is dangerous with cheaper food. I think he killed one of the plants.

Yes, there is. It is a little trickier, but not impossible.

Thought so. You can't have medieval warfare without a few crossbows.

Not bad, not bad at all!

Thank you, Master Kal-El.

Congrats, Lord Czar!

Tomorrow night, I'll be driving back from Charleston after a day trip to hang out with the family. Just checked the forecast...

Freezing rain, sleet, and ice. Yaaaaaaaaay weather!

This has been some weird December weather we have had. :confused1

I was more worried about the peppermint than the cinnamon.

This is true.

I fell asleep a little while ago. Mrs. Blackfoot said she had to go to Walmart and then take her friend home before she came home and made dinner. Three hours later, she just got home and woke me up! The weather is bad with sleet and freezing rain tonight. I asked her if that was what took so long. Foolish girl said no! She had the perfect out and didn't take it.

cool. I knew what it meant, I just wasn't sure if either it was spel't correctly, or was relevant to context I responded to :biggrin1:

Romaji, the romanization of Japanese words, is a funny thing. There are several common spellings of various words (though typically only one is correct). However, often English speaking people tend to write them a bit differently than native speakers. For example the correct spelling for "Good Evening" is Konban Wa (second word is emphasized) though most native English speakers write and pronounce it as if it were one word Konbanwa.

Merry Christmas, Rob!
