I'm looking for a nice new wallet and would like some ideas from you gentlemen about good quality brands to consider.

I'm looking for a bi-fold with the ID insert that opens perpendicular to the main section's crease (I think this is called a 'passcase' type).

I have a Tumi (http://www.tumi.com/wallets_accessories/mens_wallets/category_search/index.cfm?Ne=100&N=4005+20026389)which I have been using for about 4 years. Check the site and see if they have a configuration that you like. Mine has held up very well...still looks like it is new.

Personally, I would check out Ross, Marshall's, TJ Maxx for a decent quality one. They often have a pretty good selection. Usually decent designer brands, but nothing super spiffy. But it is a wallet. I figure just a basic, decent quality leather one from any brand is fine. These things are subject to a lot more abuse than I can justify allowing something expensive to encounter.

I use a tesco wallet  Wanted to buy a leather one but then I realised that I got one from my girlfriend. Problem with that is that it is too huge and you can imagine her seeing me buying another wallet

There are some good looking candidates...
I'll have to visit the store for a visual! I'd hate to buy a $150 wallet without ever seeing it!

I really like my Coach wallet.

They have two that I really like and I've heard nothing but good things about the quality of their products, but I really wanted to 'shop around' before going Coach.

I have no idea what brand mine is, but I bought it at a shop in downtown Clemson when I was in high school (probably Knickerbockers). Its plain black leather bi-fold with a Clemson paw stamped into it. I love it, but if you want one, you'll probably have to get Blair to pick you one up!

I HIGHLY recommend Vaja Cases leathergoods (www.vajacases.com, or here for men's wallets (http://www.vajacases.com/images/accessories/leather-wallets_en.html)). Their quality is incredible, and the color combinations and custom options make it a truly special, personal product. Just about everything is custom-made. I own a PDA case, phone case, wallet, and an iPod case from them, and their service has been exceptional (really quick turn-around with responses if you email them).

I'm not shilling for them, just a really happy customer who doesn't mind telling his friends.

In all honesty I've found the less expensive non-designer name leather wallets to far outlast the pricier ones.

I really hate replacing my wallet, but it's a good excuse to clean out all of the excess stuff that accumulates over the years. I make a point of buying a new one every 10 years, on or about my decade birthday.

I am a fan of Hermes wallets, however a more "sanely" priced wallet, and of similar quality are Hugo Bosca's.

Rule of thumb - Spend less on your wallet than the amount of money you keep in it.

BOSCA, Here at Ebags.com (http://www.ebags.com/wallets/mens/category_search/bosca/index.cfm?N=4001+2004477+500226&Ns=ORDER_COUNT&Nso=1)

I have a BOSCA wallet and love it very much. Very soft, yet durable. There are other wallet brands here as well. Take a look.

I might could do that, but I don't go in there as often as I do THE JUDGE'S!

After lots of looking, one purchase-and-return, I settled on the Water Buffalo Compact ID Wallet. (http://www.coach.com/content/product.aspx?product_no=8634&category_id=53)

It seems almost perfect. It's small, but still has a full length bill compartment.:thumbup1:

I guess I'll have to stick with a paper clip, then.

Anyone have change for a button?

My wife just bought me a Bosca wallet in the old leather line. It is a beautiful cognac color. I absolutely love it and I highly recommend.

I'm very happy with the Buxton Double ID Passcase (http://cgi.ebay.com/LEATHER-MENS-DOUBLE-ID-PASSCASE-WALLET-Buxton-36826_W0QQitemZ200060200816QQihZ010QQcategoryZ1054 10QQcmdZViewItem) that I purchased over a year ago. All leather, one flip out ID window is stitched in, the other is removable. A thick bill-fold style that you know is in your pocket, although removing the one ID case from it slims it down. I got it at Sears.

I've tried other brands and they haven't lasted for me, they usually start to fall apart after a year. Stafford has proven to be about the worst brand out there in that regard. A Dockers brand wallet wasn't much better in longevity either. I've also found that the thinner wallets allow the plastic that I carry in them to bend and break, so I'm really liking this heavy one that I have now. Not bad for about $24.00.

These wallets are unsurpassable:

They are from the Italian/Florentine brand The Bridge/Il Ponte:

i had a coach water buffalo wallet that cost me about $80. it wore out in a few years. it was a great design, and when new the leather was really nice. but i wasn't happy with how long it lasted.

i replaced it with a $10 leather no-name wallet that never wore out, but this one recently got bumped by

http://www.all-ett.com/

very, very thin. i carry it in my front pocket and can't even tell that it is there.

i do miss the feel of leather, however.

If their Mozzarella is any indication, they should also make a great wallet.

A few years ago I decided to shrink my wallet size greatly, and I have never looked back. I like the style with a money clip for easy access. I have one of these (http://www.levenger.com/PAGETEMPLATES/PRODUCT/Product.asp?Params=Category=15-844|Level=2-3|PageID=2295|Link=Img), monogrammed, and it is a great wallet at a reasonable price.

I have also given up on the full size wallet. I have a very small wallet where I keep a few cards and IDs. Then seperate from my wallet I have a money clip. I hate having things in my pocket, the fewer the better, or the smaller the better. Having had a big wallet, once you give it up you will never go back, because who really needs that Marriott Rewards Card when they have it on file when you check in.:tongue_sm

I use a $5.00 Bugle Boy wallet I bought about 10 years ago. It's got another decade left in it easy. I keep my money seperate in a clip but I do keep my credit cards in my wallet. I use the credit cards the most so the wallet sees a lot of action.

My wife bought me a wallet made from rip-stop nylon. It's very good and when opened carried cards in a 2x2 array, saving lots of room. It also has two pockets for money and receipts.

Best of all, when loaded it won't dent your behind.
