Just two general questions

1. What does it mean if you have a "slant razor?"

2. what does it mean if your razor has teeth?

I know these are basic but i also know people here will help.

Thanks and God Bless

Josh

1. Slant razors put a twist in the blade so it cuts the hair on an angle

2. Teeth are on an open-comb razor

These should illustrate for you, open comb (Merkur 15C) on the left, slant (Merkur 37C) on the right ( from www.westcoastshaving.com ):

Welcome to B&B!

And here's another shot of a slant with a really direct view of the blade angle.

Edit: Also, some argued advantages of these razors:

The Slant cuts at an aggressive angle that helps get tricky hairs and yields a really close shave

And the Open Tooth razor allows more lather to pass through the teeth, supposedly giving a closer more comfortable shave.

An open comb razor sometimes works better for longer beards.

The Slants have a different angle a little bit more of exposure. It's more agressive. And you need to be sure about your technique before trying this, especially in areas such as your mustache and your sideburns.

The Open Teeth works better if you have a beard.

And both are possibly not the best choice for a newbie wet shaver unless you have a heavy beard. I find them a little aggressive.
