I just bought a Rooney 1/1 to add to my small vulfix..

i use majority soaps and every now and then ill super lather..
i just started face lathering but do see myself bowl lathering a couple times as well..

For the 3rd brush im looking for a larger brush.. both my current brushes are rather small and would like a big brush with a big handle.. any recommendations?

also would prefer a non vulfix/non rooney just because i want to venture out.. thanks.

Shavemacs are 50% off at Vintage Blades. I'm about to get one myself.

I'll echo that the Shavmacs at VB are a super deal. you simply cannot beat that bargain right now.

Another great cream brush is the EJ silvertip. A little less than the Shavemac, a bit floppy, but great with creams.

... I just bought a 220... Had some correspondence with Erin from VB earlier in the day that had me damn near convinced, then this thread got me thinking about it again and I pulled the trigger. That makes three brushes, three stands, and a blade bank bought from the lovely folks at Vintage Blades just this week. Good thing SWMBO's out of town :whistling: When she returns I will insist that I've always had five brushes. That'll work, right?

I love my rooney 1/3 super and I must say I love it.

Shavemac gets my vote, too. West Coast Shaving has some on sale as well, if Vintage Blades doesn't have a style you like. Both vendors come enormously highly recommended. Of course, you can always go the source, Shavemac itself, if you want a custom handle, etc.

Either that, or just keep two of 'em out of sight, out of mind at any given time. Will she really notice the difference as long as she only sees 3 brushes on the counter?

Or ... tell her you won two of them in a random-number contest here.

One was a gift from her uncle, she knows that one. Two are tortoise handled, another is black, and the shavemac is HUGE. I think she may notice

She knows I've been around here for a while now, I doubt the "It was a PIF! I didn't even ask for it!" excuse will fly for much longer

Savile Row 3XXX series from Charles at QED. Best brush out there at any price IMHO.
