I heard that the DVDs are actually made in China, and they aren't even hand made (don't get me started on the speculation of whether the DVDs are plugged or knotted)!

Howdy Guys,
Just sent a batch out. We even had our first international orders, one's on its way to Japan, and one to the Netherlands.
Some upcoming changes you might want to be aware of:
Starting next Monday, the price will increase to $9 for members, and $11 for non-members.
Also, as of now, all orders placed will be filled the following Tuesday. They might be filled earlier depending on how many come in, and if I'm going by the post office anyway, but if you place an order on Wednesday, it might not ship until the following Tuesday.
Cheers,
-Nick

I ordered Nick's DVD and it's a well done and very helpful resource, especially if you're newly into shaving.
I give it an enthusiastic two thumbs up!!

Hey Nick,
Maybe on B&B II, the sequel, you can dump Joel and use Tina Grant! You could probably sell the DVD for more as well!
Randy
Randy,
That idea was already considered and dismissed. Unfortunately, to get Tina, we would've also had to consent to giving her manager at least 5 minutes of unedited air time on the video, and Mark TSSB's clay mask would've just thrown the whole color balance WAY out of whack!
-Nick
P.S. Original post has been edited to add some international instructions.

I second that! Received it a couple of days ago, but didn't get a chance to watch it 'til last night. Didn't go to bed until I had watched the whole thing, even though I was only planning on giving it a quick look!

Send me a PM if you'd sell a DVD to a broke-ass college student who's new to this for $5.

I like your moxie kid.... So I'll tell you what, even though at 5 bucks, we're taking a loss, since you were the first with the chutzpah to ask, this time only, I'll take you up on the deal.
Paypal the scratch, and shoot me a PM as per normal protocol.

Nick,
I just received your DVD Friday. I been straight edge shaving for approx 2 weeks and with a few minor accidents I got okay shaves http://www.break.com/index/bb6653.html . I wasnt sure what to excpect from the DVD...so my Fiance sat down expecting to see "SAW" and saw "SHAVE" instead.
I stayed for the whole show -- WOW -- It was REALLY Helpful -- I got my Best Shave YET on Sat morning! My Neck is the hardest party -- but your techiques were priceless as too were your Product reviews---to SEE is to believe. My Neck was LESS irritated and smooth! It took alot of passes but it was well worth it.
Well worth the $11. WELL WORTH IT INDEED.
Thanks again! (Though I am growing back my goate -- to hard to shave).
OH -- I now microwave a shaving mug filled with water and then soak my brush int he hot water---whoah.
THANKS Randy for telling me about the dvd!

First of all I love this place , so much info for a totall newbie..
I'm no longer a double Edge virgin anymore I just had my first wet shave.
offcours it went ackward I had not shaved for 10 days or so.. used proraso the green tub. Gillette adjustable . and el Cheapo badger brush.
took me 30 minutes or so... and still its not as good as Mach3 but thats because I dont know what im doing and dont know which setting to use and I was scared to cut myself.
I do need to buy your B&B DVD pronto.. who is the main man to get to..
I emailed Nick but no response yet. im from the Netherlands and need it like yesterday. oh this shaving is addictive...
oh how rude didnt introduce myself.. the name is
Rene Binda from the windmills country..
Rene,
Welcome aboard!
Sorry about the delay, sometimes my mailbox gets swamped and it takes me a day to respond. You've got mail.
The first few shaves with a DE aren't going to be as good as a Mach 3, especially if you're talking off 10 days of stubble, but give it time, once you've got the hang of things, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.

I find now that I have the DVD and saw both DE methods and Straight edge I am using both interchangebly. DE when I need the quick shave -- and the Straight edge when I have time (need to wake up earlier because I need to get my technique down better).
I really cannot think of anything Nick did not think of in the DVD -- it cover practically everything a newbie can think of.
Wow -- the netherlands. Your DVDs are known Worldwide!
Diablo,
Thank you very much for the compliments on the DVD. It's nice to know that it was worth the effort. Joel's the man in the limelight however, and everything you see was pretty much impromptu off the top of his head (we did sit down and devise a very rough outline first).
Thanks again for the kind words,
-Nick

Well than thank you Joel as well.
I think i am going to watch the Shaving Lather section today.
All I can say is -- 2 cuts since I got the video -- Great improvement!...No more "Resevoir Dogs" accidents happening again! :w00t:

Great thats good to know Diablo, already paid for the DVD its up to Nick's gracious now to get it to me. really I tried finding dvd's about shaving its mind blowing no one takes shaving serious ! I almost had a cut yesterday but in time could stop it , im sure with a feather blade I would have gotten a cut.. also the proraso cream is much better then all the foam in a can I always used and all in all it was not as close as the Mach3 because im a beginner the razor burn was way less and the next day my face felt better then with a Mach3 irritation recovery wise.

a DVD?! wow cool! I want in....does it show DE shaving, though? That's what I'm really interested in seeing, other techniques from DE users to compare to the way I do it, and maybe improve. Do you take credit card payment through paypal? I'd be more than willing to indemnify you for the credit card service fee PP charges of course.

It does include DE shaving, below are some links that might give you a better idea:

Yes today the dvd finally made its loooong journey...
Dumped it into the player. most of the stuff about products I already knew because im getting almost no sleep reading all about shaving from this forum and SMF. but the methodshaving was super interesting ! how ackward the Cube.
learned something there I need to touch up with cutting balm and saw how going against the grain can improve the closeness of the shave.
good job on it.. didnt watch it all yet but sofar.. :thumbup1:
amazing the brush differences makes you wonder again which one to get :w00t:
I think the point of getting nicks is when you go careless against the grain I didnt do it the first few shaves no nicks there ,my 6th shave I got two nicks. I did go against the grain but I have no Alumn stick.. this happened due to Derby Blades so I guess the Israeli's are good beginner blades...
-Rene
Rene,
I'm glad it made its way to you (it had a fair amount of traveling to do).

Howdy guys,
I'm currently writing this post from a hotel room in Escondido California. I've been away on business for the last two months, which is why DVD sales have been suspended. I've received several PMs inquiring as to when sales would resume, and even several payments. I should have the time and access to equipment to do a one time run in mid June. Assuming my schedule doesn't change, as we approach June, I'll allow people to place pre-orders, and then I'll make one shipment. I might have to do this again if I'm still on the road in July, if not, I might be able to open up the process to regular orders again.
Sorry for the delay everyone, I'll let you know when the B&B DVD is available again for (pre)sale.
