Hello all!
I'm a long time lurker and have finally decided to jump in to the DE wet shaving end of the pool. My reason is simple....I'm tired
of paying ridiculous money on M3 blades and yearn for something better. I have purchased a VDH starter kit that comes
with the Deluxe shave soap, a bowl and a boar brush. The Brush does not bother me and is to me good for what it
is and I really LOVE the soap lather over the can junk! I'm going to spend the cash soon on a Merkur
HD razor and sample pack of blades to see what will be good for my face.
I can work up a good lather thanks to the tutorials I found here and can't wait to see how it goes with the HD!
Wish me luck!

Welcome, and good luck! You might consider going the vintage razor route. The Merkur HD is a really good razor, but you can get some great older razors for a lot less money here on the B&B BST. You're on the way to a lot better way of doing things! Enjoy the process!

Welcome.
Yeah, the VDH really is better than canned goo, and a lot cheaper, too. I started with a badger brush but now I prefer a boar brush.
Take your time in the learning process and have fun.

Welcome! New Iberia is the closest B&B member to where I grew up (Lafayette).

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I ordered my Merkur HD , a sampler pack of razors and a round of Col. Conks
bay rum soap from Lee's razors and am anxiously awaiting its delivery.
Lots of good info here, and I hope to vastly improve my shave.
Thanks guys!
