My first Schick Injector shave. Uh-oh....

Just for experience's sake I shaved with one of my Schick injector razors this morning. It's a non-adjustable M34. Nice feel and heft in the hand. Right from the first stroke I knew not to expect as close a shave as I get with my SS. The blade glided across my face too easily. But when I went to make some touch-up passes, I found there was very little whisker left to touch up! I ended up with my usual Saturday morning DFS in less time! Also, while I usually don't get much if any razor burn, there was absolutely none whatsoever. This was one of the easiest great shaves I've ever gotten. I have to admit I'd looked down on these Schick Injectors up till now. I'd thought they were sort of poor cousins to the Gillette DEs. Now I'm not so sure. At the very least, this is going to be my travel razor. The injector devise is also the used blade bank so it's much more compact than carrying new DE blades plus a small blade bank. But I'm going to give my older G type injectors and my newer 60s and 70s models a try too. And if you've got any of these lying around, I highly recommend giving them a go. I think you're in for a really pleasant surprise.

Yeah, the Injector is pretty bad that way for me. If it wasn't for the shave, I'd just leave that ugly duck alone.

It manuevers over my face like a sports car compared to the lumbering, giant headed Gillette TTO razors. The whole injector blade changing thing is pretty cool. I can get great shaves faster than I can with DE razors.

There is something about that Schick that just doesn't float my boat like a Gillette DE does. I think it might be that the flyweight Injector feels about like shaving with a disposable twin...it is so light, small and easy that it's like cheating. It's not easy on the eyes like a SuperSpeed or a Tech.

If only it didn't shave so well. If I'm pressed for time, out comes the Schick Injector, and by the time I'm done I'm always thinking, "Hey, why don't I use this sucker more often?"

Then I'm lured away by a pretty Red Tip or Sheraton.

My only lame defense is that the blades aren't so cheap...but that shave, dammit, it's good, every time.

I also figured these were ugly cousins of the modern double blades, etc. Finally picked up a couple after I'd taken a nice SE detour with Gems and Ever Readys. They do shave well, and nothing works better under the nose.

This pretty much sums it up for me, also. My wife has a H1 Ladies fashion Razor. She says it easy to use and travels well. I like mine, but have not tried hers.

Given that blades are readily available on the 'Bay, I have considered picking up one of these for some time. Glad to hear they are close shavers. Sadly the blades seem a touch expensive compared to other NOS blades.

The Schick Injector is a great little razor. It was actually my first over 50 years ago and carried me through my service years in the early '60's. I haven't owned one for many, many years but I should get one now for old times sake. They did give a very close shave that passed inspection every morning.

The injectors are fantastic razors! My only grip is the blades tend be a bit more expensive and not as abundant as DE blades. If I need a quick shave I bust out my injector!

I have a PAL injector that I have been meaning to try out. I prefer the asthetic of it, but wonder how it compares to the more known Schicks.

I love injectors. Nothing gives me the feeling of "wiping" off the whiskers quite like an injector. They may not be the ne plus ultra when it comes to closeness, but for ease of use, quickness of shave, and comfort, they're hard to beat. They give the best first pass, too. Pricey blades? Perhaps a bit, but I can get close to ten shaves out of them, so a year's supply of Pellas isn't that dear.

I suggest getting one of the later models with the longer handles and chrome heads - most folks think they're better shavers.

The older ones can be aggressive.

Me2, they shaved me quick, close, and frequent without any problem(s). The stainless steel blades are also a big plus.

I used an adjustable for many years, set it to shave closest and left it(would have purchased the non-adjustable if it had been available where I lived and though it shaved as well as the Schick; no problem(s) with either.

Excellent compilation of the pluses. Schick seems to me to be the best all around safety razor compared to the SEs and DEs and that is saying a jawful.

I have found my "E" type to be one of my go to razors. Easy to use, close, comfortable shaves every time. Between that and my Slant, I now have a perfect 2 razor rotation.
