I have this unusual problem with the forum. While I am logged in it is incredibly slow, sometimes the links don't load and it defaults back to the main page. I cleared my cookies and it still happens at home and work using different browsers.
If I logout and browse as guest.... no problems whatsoever!
Hmmmm......

Did you send in your monthly dues? Last week the pages were loading slowly for me. I deleted temp internet files, cookies, re-booted, blah blah blah, nothing helped. B&B and SRP were the only two I had issues with. After a few days, things returned to normal. Never did figure it out.

That does sound miserable indeed. I dunno what the problem seems to be, as our server is running A-OK, and everything seems to be in working order. hmmm indeed.

Hmm ... same as with them Windooz ... if anything goes wrong and you do not know what to do ... just format and make a new installation. :001_tongu

Just to make it clear - B&B members are supposed to have one account and only one account.

Ummm.... Thanks for the help....

Anyway...
Still happening, I cleared my cache, the whole nine yards. Same with my Powerbook at home. It took me 5 minutes just to get to post this message.

Richard, my above post was not intended to be unhelpful (though, looking back I guess I didn't intend it to help you either - it is just a reminder to community members that they are not supposed to create multiple accounts)...
As for your problem, let me assure you that the mods and admin are looking into it and with any luck it will be resolved.
We did all sorts of new updates on the board a few nights ago, might have gotten your account corrupted somehow.

Michael, sorry, I got a little short tempered as it is pretty frustrating on this end.
Joel - my new account is now slow as well.... I don't get it.
I use a different ISP at home and at work. At home (last night) was slow also. Now at work both accounts are slow, browsing as a guest is no problem. The same thing happens with internet explorer.

Richard - Try running a tracert to B&B from the command line (if you are using Windows) and it you will see where it is slowing down. At the prompt, you would type "tracert badgerandblade.com"

Man that's strange.... maybe you have some sort of virus? We have all sorts of tools on our site that "disinfect" viruses and basically twart errant active scripts, trojans, etc etc - and stop them dead in their tracks. Sounds like maybe you have a bugaboo on your router or your computer? In any event - I'd suggest you PM Nick and try to work with him behind the scenes and get to the bottom of this mess as it appears you are the only one experiencing problems.

Richard,
Have you tried clearing out your cookies and/or your temp cache?

I cleared my cache, cookies, etc. I am now at home on one of my Macs and this account works fine (for now) but my main account is still really slow. It can't be a virus as it is happening on 3 different computers and two different service providers. Plus, there are no viruses, really, for a Mac.
Really, really odd. I know there is not much that can be done... I'll wait it out and see what happens.

Well that would seem to be an explanation.

If it is then that is just not right. I don't think anyone here would do that kind of thing on purpose but you never know. Richard I really hope that wasn't the case.

I completely agree, my post was only to meant to state that the link Richard provided did seem to explain all the issues that he was having. I certainly hope that it was not the cause though...
