Does anyone know of a better (cheaper) place to buy than Drugstore.com (http://www.drugstore.com/templates/brand/default.asp?brand=18913&trx=SEARCH-BNAV-0-BSTORE&trxp2=18913)? They appear to carry just about everything in their "Clubman Store (http://www.drugstore.com/templates/brand/default.asp?brand=18913&trx=SEARCH-BNAV-0-BSTORE&trxp2=18913)." Froogle.com (http://www.froogle.com) indicates that they have the lowest prices online.
If I do need to limit myself to just a handful of must haves, which should those be? What are the favorites?

You might check your local barber supply, or Sally Beauty carries some of the Pinauds, in addition to Master. Also, some have found pinauds at Eckerd and Walgreens. CVS carries the Clubman.

I've looked around and the selection is always slim, and also priced well above the Drugstore.com price. It seems like a good deal. Just wondering if anyone's found anyplace better. Also interested in the more obscure items. The ones you almost never see in most drugstores.

I've also fallen in love with the Pinaud Bay Rum. The only place I could find it was Eckerd though. They seem to have the biggest selection of the Clubman scents.

Is the price of the stuff on drugstore.com cheap enough that its still cheaper than Eckerd after shipping?

From what I've seen in the Northeast, Walgreen's typically carries Clubman and Lilac Vegetal whereas Eckerd's usually carries Clubman and Bay Rum. Prices are usually around $6 per bottle.

I use the EAU DE QUININE hair tonic on a daily basis, it is fantastic stuff, and you will never need to use Head and Shoulders again.

In the Clubman line they make a styling gel (the green one not the extra hold). This stuff is great not to stiffening and gives your hair a slight shine. It has a very light masculine sent and will not interfere with your cologne and boy it is cheap. Less than $4.00 at Walgreens for a huge tub.

I've tried Clubman, Lime Sec, Lilac Vegetal, and Bay Rum. The Lime Sec is the only one that I find myself rarely reaching for. If you like this style of scent (barbershop flavors), you might also look into the selections put out by Crusellas. I have tried a good number of their scents as well and really like their Tobacco. This site (http://www.indioproducts.com/webstore/index.php?cPath=38_354) carries a pretty wide array of Crusellas products and is very competitively priced.

Hmmmm... I've seen it, but I've sworn off hair gel. Itchy scalp, you know? Right now I'm using Groom & Clean day-to-day, and I like it. I may try that gel at some point, though...

Looking forward to the Bay Rum. I've used Burt's Bees Bay Rum in the past, so I know kind of what to expect, but I'll be interested to see what the Pinaud take on it is.

I think I'll always keep some Clubman around, too. I've noticed a powdery, dusty quality to it. If you've ever been to a ghost town, that's what it reminds me of. That scent is what will keep me coming back.

Got my package! I've dabbed some of each around, and here's the first impressions:

Clubman Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum

It's Bay Rum, no doubt. Heavier on ginger than Burt's Bees Bay Rum. Makes for a slightly lighter punch. That's a good thing, IMHO.
Clubman Pinaud Special Reserve

Unique. Powdery. Deep. Musky. I wish I could dunk myself in it.
Clubman After Shave Lotion, Classic Vanilla

Mr. Taylor's! Hard to find the vanilla in it, but if you're familiar with the Mr. Taylor's scent, then this is a pretty good match.
Clubman Pinaud Greasless

How it feels is most important, and I haven't used it yet. But when I smelled it on my hand, there is that Clubman smell to it.

i picked up the vanilla, special reserve, and lilac vegetal. initial impression is vanilla is best, although it does not smell like vanilla to me. i'll have to wear the other two and see how they do before forming a final verdict.

i found a review (after ordering) of the lilac vegetal, and the reviewer said that it smelled like urine! actually, although i don't completely agree, i believe it has an overtone that led him to that conclusion.

somehow i passed over the citrus musk. did anyone try it? i heard that it was a lime-type scent and since i like lime so much, i'm interested.

charles at QED recommended the EAU DE QUININE hair tonic to me as a "conditioner." i initially laughed it off since my hair is so short, but since i was buying this other stuff i went ahead and picked up a bottle. i really like it!

i'd like to try some of those crusellas, but hate to buy large bottles without knowing whether i'd like it. if anyone wants to do some sampler trading i've obviously got a lot of pinauds that i can offer!

Damn you people. I just read your advice to use drugstore.com for the free shipping. So I went ahead and ordered all of their aftershaves minus the Lilac Vegital. I already have the original Clubman Pinaud. While I was shopping on drugstore, I went ahead and order KMF Patchouli and the Tom's of Maine Calendula.

Holy crap -- I thought I was the only one. My Bay Rum bottle arrived with a pinprick hole as well... I kid you not. :confused: :confused:

It's so small that it won't actually spray out unless you squeeze the bottle, but otherwise it's a VERY slow leak.
