Including DEs,Single edge, and injectors,I probably have 40 to 50.Not sure  The ones I have are not show pieces but are pretty nice.Haven't used one for awhile, cause I have a grip of str8s.I am always restoring them so its like a different str8 every shave.:biggrin:Here is apic of some Ive had and some I still have in my rotation. Sold a lot of my showpiece DEs.I thought they sould be put to good use.

Never know when you might need that old DE I guess.

I voted for one, because it's all I have, but I don't keep it for a backup. I actually like using my DE and think it will be in my rotation, probably making an appearance every couple weeks. I do prefer my straights though!

I'm the only person who voted zero so far. I am looking for a 1930s Aristocrat though.

I've still got my old Gillette adjustable. I'm not 100% sure which model it is, I should look it up one of these days. It was my first razor and a hand me down from my dad, and it's still in like new condition.
I keep it for sentimental reasons.
I dug it out and shaved with it last year when I got sick of my M3, but reading about it led me here and I became hooked on straights instead

I held onto mine for a while as "backup", then realized I have "backup" straights, and thus rendered the DE obsolete and quickly sold it.

I'm keeping my 23c for days when I'm just too rushed for a straight shave. So far it hasn't even been used an average of one time a month, and I've only been straight shaving for... maybe a month and a half???

I'm really glad I didn't have a collection of DE's when I went into straights, or it would be painful. Now I ended up collecting straights .

I still have my slant. And I won't be giving it up. With a Feather, it still delivers awesome shaves.

I share your sentiments regarding the Vision. I gave mine away. My conscience is clear.

I bought several at an antique store because it was such a good deal. I had some fun with them trying them out, but they aren't nearly as cool as my straights. I get a totally rejuvenating shave from my straights that I don't expect to get bored with. I could see myself getting tired of the DE routine. But, in fairness, I haven't given it a shot. However, I don't really plan to either

2 SS
1 NEW
2 TECH (I just won on Ebay)

I usually use a DE on weekdays, and when I travel (or shave away from home). Still too slow with a straight. (and when I need to shave with shaky hands, whatever the reason is)

It's easier to travel with a DE, at least for me.

That being said, I get better shaves with a straight.

One at the hunting club, one at the office, one in my travel kit, five at home for a total of eight. Two are Gillette Techs, one is a British Gillette #16 Aristrocrat, the rest are Merkurs.

I'm not going to use a straight at the hunting club. Most don't even bother to shave there but I can't go too long without a fix.

I'm not going to use a straight when I travel. I seldom fly, but straight razors tend to freak people out if I'm a guest in their home.

The one at the office is in case of bad weather and I have to stay downtown in a hotel. Better than the disposable the hotel will give you.

I may never sell the #16.

The Merkurs are just good razors, but I use them infrequently. I'll keep them because I started shaving as a youth with a DE all the way through college and the Army so there is a bond with DE razors, and at some point I may age to the point where I can no longer safely use a straight. Lastly, I sometimes need a quick shave. When I use a straight I want more than a quick shave.

I have toooo many. I keep coming across some nice razors so when i see them, I buy them (British Rockets, Aristocrat Jr's and such). I have to sell a bunch and put together a PIF or starter pack or something.

I'll always keep my gold Slant, someday get a gold HD, and keep one or two of the old Gilette's (not sure what yet).

I think I've DE shaved 2 or 3 times in the last two years.

Approximately 80 d/e and s/e razors. Straights suck.:tongue_sm:001_smile

20 to 30 DE razors. My favorite is the Merkur Classic. I've used the Superspeeds and the adjustables and the techs and the New, and I like the Merkur better than any of the Gillettes. But I rarely use them.

For traveling with the family, though, I prefer a DE. With the four of us in a motel room jostling for space around the sink, the DE is safer.

I still own a reconditioned Progress I will never let go of, I've owned it for 10 years since new. Also a Coles slant, a custom 11c and a couple of frankenrazors. I also own a Rolls Razor, not a DE but I figure it goes with the meaning of the poll.
The truth is that I'm still not there yet with the straights, out of the 5 I own, I only have gotten that exceptional shave we all look for from one consistently (it's a sheffield steel ). The others I'm gradually getting better with.
So for the moment, I shave with something other than a straight when I have to go to work (it is not every day). I leave the straight zen for when I can dedicate all the time I need for now.

I really enjoy both straights and DEs so I voted to keep a few DEs around. Currently my DEs still outnumber my straights but the straights are rapidly gaining momentum and it will most likely be the other way around before long.

I own two. A Merkur HD and a Merkur slant. My oldest son uses the HD when he needs to shave, every other month or so :001_smile I'll probably get another DE for my youngest son when he starts shaving in 5 or 6 years.

At this point I have no desire to not use a straight. When I started using a DE I had a goatee. When I switched to straight razors I shaved it off. If I were to use a DE I would have to learn how to shave my goatee area again. No thanks. Also I get less irritation with a straight and I seldom get weepers.
