I'm still confused about blade angle, sorry. If my razor handle is perpendicular to the floor is the handle at ninety degrees? Then I should lower the handle about 45-60 degrees? Which direction from 45 degrees would the handle go to make a more shallow angle? A more aggressive angle? Is the BLADE to be parallel (zero degrees) or is the BLADE to be at 30 degrees?
Thanks you all.

You want the blade angle in relation to your FACE (well, the skin, wherever it may be...). Yes, if the handle is perpendicular to the floor, it is at 90 degrees, so you'd drop it 45-60 degrees.

When starting with the head of your razor against your face, bring the handle towards the floor until the Razor blade is almost at 0 degrees to your face. You want the blade to slice through the hair. You make it more or less aggressive by raising and lowering the handle. Remember though, you want the blade to be roughly perpendicular to the hair you are cutting through. Hope this helps. People may say different things but this is how I think about it as I shave.
You can hear whan you are shaving. Try to vary your blade angle (not pressure!) and listen carefully. If you can't hear anything (assuming your hearing is fine); you're not shaving properly.

There is not much about angle. Dont make it too compliacated.
Think that you have only the head cap touching your skin = no cutting. Tilt the razor until it starts to cut, thats about the optimal angle. As others have told you can hear and feel when the razor is cutting whiskers.

...and if you REALLY want a razor you can listen to, pick up a Merk Futur. Looks like you like your old skool razors, but the Futur not only is a fantastic shaver but you get very audible feedback.

Bingo! You hit the nail on the head. It doesn't get any easier then that.

Different razors require different angles. Just start shaving and you will feel and see the results of the 'right' angle in short ordere. It doesn't take long, and it will be second nature. Just start shaving and it will come. Don't be overly cerebral about it; it's more intuitive than anything. Don't be timid.

Wow, thanks so much, those pictures are perfect! I'm being "cerebral" because earlier I was having a problem with skin irritation and several posters suggested that it is probably an angle/pressure problem. So I'm trying, through process of elimination, to correct my technique. This is so frustrating at times so I appreciate the encouragement and the understanding words.
Thanks again.
