Have any of you guys found a Bay Rum after shave balm that you're particularly partial to? I know St. Johns offers one and so does Sue at SCS. Those are really the only two I'm aware of ....

Thanks, Dave

I haven't personally tried it, but C.O. Bigelow (http://www.bigelowchemists.com) also offers a Bay Rum A/S Balm...

the SCS Bay Rum Balm is good

I have the St. John splash, which I also enjoy. Very classy scent.

I remember trying a sample of the St. Johns Bay Rum splash a while back and I LOVED it. The St. Johns is quite a bit more expensive than Sue's offering, though.

Joe, even with your :thumbup1: for the SCS Bay Rum A/S balm do you find it to be overly heavy or greasy at all?

True, the S.J. is more...but if you are a Bay Rum dude, try your best to get it.

The SCS offering is not oily or heavy IMO, soaks in rather well actually. However, even balms that are "heavy" or "oily" to some people can be made better simply by applying them to a wet face. Same goes for alcohol splashes...if they dry you out, just apply them to a wet face.

Thanks, Joe. I'm definately gonna pick up some St. Johns. Have you tried the St. Johns balm? Seems like it would be nice to have both the A/S splash and the balm as a pair ...

Hey bud, sorry...haven't tried the balm. Great suggestion though. Now I will be ordering there again, and when I do this is what I'll be getting:

Bay Rum Balm
Island Spice cologne () this stuff is incredible!

Is it similar to Bay Rum smell?

Nah, but its definitely a "virgin islands" scent....tropical, spicy, and clean. When you wear this stuff, you feel like an Island Man. :thumbup1:

btw - its got more staying power than the St. John Bay Rum....another big plus.

Try Pinaud clubman. Great bay rum, most who have tried it like it. Also found this site called getluckytiger.com (http://www.getluckytiger.com) they have bay rum and some others. Not too expensive either. In fact they have "gallon" prices  They were featured on both the Barber Shop movies 1 & 2. Haven't tried it yet, but for the price. Sorry, re-read your post your looking for balm (how could I miss balm-duh!)

My all time favorite is Burt's Bee-does sting abit, and no longer manufactured. I also use the Soap Opera Aftshave balm which they will add the Bay RUm oil, plus it doesn't sting

AH! How could I forget the Burts Bees. This is also a very enjoyable Bay Rum Balm. Has a great composition of e.o.'s and an excellent skincare benefit with a menthol kick to boot. Does a great job of clearing irritation.

FYI - they have done a limited time run of the entire BB's Bay Rum line. Available in stores now, and at their website. :thumbup1:

I'll have to check out their website. Thanks! I ended up ordering some Bay Rum A/S balm from Sue at SCS. Looking forward to trying that. I also ordered her Bay Rum w/ Lime twist EDT. Hard to ignore all those glowing reviews on that one.
