I know I know, it's always nice to have a little of everything but I'm wondering if there would/should/could be an occasion where a 34C would be more useful than my 37C? BTW, I've never cut myself with the Slant and find it quite comfortable.

Well, that's the thing. I'm considering selling it and having never used it (bought it from a prior member who used it 3-4 times). I had intentions to use it as my daily go-to razor, but then my Slant got here first and I've been in love ever since. I'll let you know if I sell it (should think through it tonight) and give you first dibs.
I dont know about the occasions but I will get one if I find a good deal on it.You can go wrong with one.

IMHO, there is no justifiable reason that you would *need* an HD if you already had a slant. There is no possible way for the HD to shave as close as the slant. I have a slant, and I have already packed up all my other razors. In fact, getting the slant has cured me of any possible future incidence of RAD. There's no need. No other DE razor can compare.

The only thing I can think of, if there are any touch-up spots (such as sideburns) where you want the percision of a non-slant. But what do I know, I'm still using a single-blade BIC until my Progress shows up in the mail (hopefully by tomorrow or Saturday).
Now I can see an open comb being useful, if you periodically grow out your beard and want an easy way to shave it off. Does anyone know if the comb-type razors are good for wacking off a beard without using scisors or clippers first?

Ditch the 34C. It's going to collect dust the longer you use the Slant. Get rid of it. Don't even be tempted to use it any more. It's pointless. It will just disappoint you now that you are a Slant guy.

This is exactly why I keep my 38c around. It takes some practice to cut the sideburns straight with the slant. Every once in a while I get them perfect but, sometimes the 38c or Mergress comes to the rescue.

Absolutely. There will be days when you might want to put less effort into your shave, or days when the Slant does not fee quite right. For that reason I keep a 38C and 39C on hand, and feel the compliment each other quite well. A 34 and 37 would do the same for you.

I think I could survive just fine with my Slant and my NEW. Great combo!

No, you don't need both. Yet the question remains why not?

i feel like going to the HD is a half step backwards...or maybe sideways. but going to the slant FROM the HD is a step up. a step I will be taking soon i hope :)
