Merkur Blade Life & Mineral Oil

Many of you probably know the mineral oil trick. I used it successfully when I shaved with the Mach 3 and Fusion: You simply store the blade in mineral oil between uses, and the oil drastically improves blade life. A single fusion cartridge would last for 2 months as if it were new.

So I wondered if anyone uses this trick for their DE blades. If you do, how many shaves do you get out of each razor?

How many shaves do you get from a single Merkur Super without using mineral oil?

The blades are so cheap I'd never bother. I can get around 5 shaves consistently from any of the major blades.

I use a similar tactic - I thin-down my shaving cream with UHT milk in a bowl, shaves like a crazy tazmanian devil......but the cat loves it!:wink2:
