I may be interested in selling this aristocrat, but not too sure on a good price.
Best answer gets right of first refusal.
The metal case has some splits on the top half, at the back corners.

Maybe this should be in the safety razors section since it is not actually for sale...seemingly.

I'll say $2.99, Bob.
But that's just 'cause I'm a straight snob like that...

Why do you think it might be going up for sale?

I dunno, 40 - ish? Not the best condition, but has a case... Looks like it would make a decent shaver.

I sold one with a nicer case for $38. It does have nice plating for a 34/35 Aristocrat.

Well, I was going to say that it was worth about $1000. Oh well, it's already sold. Too bad. Ain't I a stinker?

you should get a something decent for that surely. Aristocrat #19 right fellas? WIth the diamond plate does that make it USA made?
I would have thought much more than $40, but what do I know! Just check the BST and closed auctions on ebay for reference. I don't see these come up often and I've been looking. If I had the money, you'd have it by now for that sum!
Good buy Jeep
Please don't put this back in the b/s/t.

When one asks "what would this sell for" and then sells the item, isn't that an auction? Are auctions now allowed on B/S/T?
Since he sold it to the first bidder - and not the highest of several bidders - I would hardly call this an auction.
I simply thought that $40 was a little too low for a nice razor like this, offered what I considered reasonable - and got the razor.

I was unsure if I was going to sell it, and Jakob sent me a PM, with an offer that was similar in nature to those already posted(as estimates of value)
He merely bypassed my next step of listing it in the BST(which is why I asked to have it moved, sorry Ouch)

I bought mine for just under $40 in slightly better condition. It seems like everyone agrees that $40 would be fair.

As an attorney, I respect the splitting of hairs (pun there, but not intended).
Look, fellas, I do not intend to offend you or anyone else for that matter. Whether or not the original post was intended to result in a sale, my concern is that others will try to duplicate the sale method that happened here, and that could take us down a slippery slope toward B&BBay. I hope not.
Not offended. I definitly see your point.
I must admit that I didn't give it much thought when I PM'd Fnord5, I saw a shiny razor, RAD kicked in, the rest is history...
I guess a solution could be to keep requests about value in the B/S/T.
Regards.

Personally, I don't see a problem at all. "How much is this razor worth?" posts come up in the Safety Razor forum all the time. Fnord5 never came out and said how much would you buy it for, he simply asked what others thought it was worth or what would be a fair price. I see nothing wrong with a member innocently PMing him asking him if he was willing to sell it at the suggested price.
In fact, I have seen many people post pictures of a find and end up selling it to someone who sees the pictures and makes an offer. I have had it happen to me as well.

You actually did that to me, with my blue-tip, in trade for your red tip.
That one isn't going anywhere soon though.
