Where To Buy Or How To Make Pins For Scales?

I need some insight as to where to buy or how to make my own pins for scales?

I will be working on creating custom scales for straights along with custom strops and need advice on the pins.

Also information on how to remove old pins tying to salvage old scales would be helpful as well.
