Generally, the results when using a slant are 'amplified' in comparison to a conventional razor . A slant 'amplifies' the shave of an experienced shaver and affords a truly exceptional shave result. OTOH, a newer shaver with tentative technique, poor blade angle, inappropriate pressure, inadequate beard prep, &c, has his experience 'amplified' as well. In this circumstance, the slant can be very unforgiving.

Use short, unhurried, deliberate strokes. Be attentive, use a shallow angle and light delicate pressure. Be certain to use a sharp blade that is in its prime. Just be sure to embrace accepted practices; prep well, take your time, and you'll experience just about the best shaves possible. The slant can provide a fine shave without irritation.

Respect the slant.
