If I understand it correctly postal services cannot send anything containing alcohol by airmail and for this reason many sellers will not ship items with alcohol content internationally.

But surely it is still possible to send them by surface mail on a ship? It might take a while to arrive but some items are really hard to obtain and to me at least it would be worth the wait.

My understanding is they won't ship alcohol period. Sending sea mail may just be too much of a hassle for some vendors. I don't have the answer, but i wish they would change the policy.

I had a bottle of alcohol AS shipped from Portugal to the US with no problems. I can't remember what the paperwork sais, I think it just said lotion or lotion sample. shipping was only 2 euros.

Cheers,

Some people will send items that contain alcohol and others will not. It's against the law to do it from what I understand. The only thing that might happen is the item gets confiscated and distroyed. I hear customs officers are usually very fragrant smelling.

I ordered an alcohol based after shave on March 17 and it still hasn't arrived. This was a CONUS order. It would've arrived quicker on horseback. I can't imagine something on ship.

Whatever it does for or against your skin, I wouldn't order anything with alcohol ever again. You will feel screwed.

Check the Australian custom website, you have something on it. I think when I read it, it wasn't 100% clear on the tobacco/alcohol bit...

This comes up again and again. It basically depends on the alcohol content, the flashpoint of the aftershave or cologne, as well as the shipper's clearance on what he can or cannot ship. All three criteria can operate independently of one another.

Have you contacted the vendor? This has nothing to do with the aftershave containing alcohol by the way just inept postal service.
