I bought some NOS feathers from Pauldog. ANd so far they have been really harsh to my face. I can't get a good shave and afterwards my face is red and bumpy and full of nicks. I wonder if I got a bad batch or something.

Not sure if it could be a bad batch but my SS with feathers is a dream but with an Aristocrat (which is definitely a more aggresive shave) I often gets nicks on a new blade and if I do too many passes or don't have enough lubrication I have gotten shaving rash which otherwise never happens.

For some reason known only to the shaving gods :confused:I only get really good shaves from Feathers in my adjustables. For everything else I use Derbys and Gillette 7 O'clock edge for my BBS. :smile: Just what I've learned over a few years.

I use only Feathers. I get excellent shaves in both my Slant and my Merkur open comb travel razor which I use as a daily shaver when we're at our place in Florida for 3-4 months a year. Great shaves with no burn, bumps and very few weepers.
