View Full Version : Injector blades: Chinese made Schick vs. Ted Pella

My head is spinning from searching the archives. I can find positive comments (and some negative) for both Ted Pella and Chinese made Schick injector blades, but don't see anyone actually compare them head-to-head. Anyone have experience with both of these? I have Ted Pella's, but don't have a local source for the Chinese made Schick's.

Can someone also either confirm or deny my conclusion that these are the only two blades to consider? Seems as though the German made Schick's and the store brand blades aren't nearly as good.

Thanks,

~Jeff

I have used the German Schick, and the Ted Pella's. I didn't like the Schick at all. They didn't seem very sharp and it took alot of work to shave three days growth The Pellas are very good but the sharpness of the blade seemed to drop off all at once. That being said I prefer the Pella's great blade albeit a little on the pricey side.

I've used the Chinese Schick and the Pellas (though bought them from EMS - same blades). I think the CS perform better than the EMS blades, though they also costs twice as much. Can't say the Schick perform twice as well, though they do last a day longer. (5 days, compared to 4 days).

The Pella / EMS blade injector is plastic, fairly flimsy, and can be tough to load sometimes. The CS injector is metal, sturdy and works like a charm.

If the CS cost half as much, I'd buy them exclusively. A buck a blade just kills me, even though it only comes to only 20 cents a shave, usually.

They should at least put 10 blades in there. There is room for probably 15 or 20. 7 is such a weird amount.

I guess I'll pick up a pack when I find some, just to try them, but they are about twice the cost of Feathers (from the other thread (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=86305)). So I doubt that I'll end up using them as my go to blade anyway. Thanks for the feedback, though.

They subliminally want you to use a blade a day.
