Blade is NOS, has not been honed. It does scrape hairs off my arm very easily. I will leave the honing to the new owner.
Blade is stainless and has a mirror polish. Blade measures 11/16.
Custom made Bird's eye maple scales w/ three pins. Scales are finished with Danish Oil and Renaissance Wax. Wedge is cocobolo.
Price is $87 shipped CONUS. Please PM for shipping elsewhere.

American firm dealing in cutlery that was originally based out of Providence, RI, but later moved to or opened a satellite office in Hartford, CT. Unicletica (http://www.uniclectica.com/misc/manuf.html) says they started in 1871 but that's inaccurate. John M Schmid started the firm in 1857 but was succeeded by Albert J. Schmid in 1871.

The sharp "spike" of a square point canb always be eased just a touch to tame these beasts. I used to fear them as well, then I got one, honed it, and put just the slightest bevel off of the spike corner, and it shaves quite nicely indeed.
Looking forward to this one! Thanks Mike!:w00t:

First time I used my spike point or square point I jabbed that succer right into my skin. I have never done that again. Every str8 shaver should have at least on point like this, it teaches patience and helps develope skill.
