Its always best to have your brush wet with hot water, and this works great for the first lather. What do you do for the second or third lather? I'm talking about keeping the brush warm. I don't believe one would want to wash off any of the lather thats been built up before you start the shave, but do you just use a cold brush to apply the 2nd or 3rd lather? As you can tell I'm a bit new to wet shaving. Any info would be most helpful. Thanks.

I dip the tips of the brush in hot water for the second or third pass. A badger brush will hold heat pretty well, a boar not so much.

If you want to keep the brush/lather warm, you might consider a scuttle. There are several different ones available. I don't use one so can't comment on them.
