I used an Astra in my SS the other day and when I went to open the silo to rinse it out, I noticed that the blade wasn't "floating" in the razor like my Derbys do, but rather, it was stuck on some piece of the mechanism and "popped" out when I opened the doors far enough.

Does anyone else have this problem or know what could be the cause of it? I'm thinking that that particular blade was just a little bit bigger due to normal variation?

It's them freaking glue/wax spots on the blades. the 7 O'Clock yellow blades i have did the same thing.

It's the glue or wax or whatever it is they use.

It's the only thing that keeps Astra's from being the perfect blade IMHO.

Yeap, it's the glue.

Before you put the blade in the razor for the first time, try running some hot water over the dots and carefully rubbing your finger in one direction, that seems to do the trick for me.

Some rubbing alcohol on the razor itself should get rid of any glue residue left behind so far.

Yep - dern glue! I chopped the crap out of one of fingers with the exact same scenario. Watch out - they bite them dern Astras.

I happens to me with any blade that has big glue spots. Usually, warm rince at the end when I clean the razor unstick the blade.
