Nice one. The Aristocrat, the finest shaver ever made, no doubt about it.

This why we call Achim MR-RAZOR!
One of my favorite gillettes of all time! A great shaver and wonderful to all ALL of the items that originally came with the set:eek:

Yeah, this one confused me.
I'm assuming it's the one here
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=160323571254#ht_512wt_1167
which also looks like the one here
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=290306094239#ht_560wt_1167
But the second one seems to be a Parat (which usually have no stated country of origin and are in fact German). I asked the seller of the second what it weighs and he said 63g -- same as a Parat. Also it has no heavy brass plate under the head.
An Aristocrat Jr weighs 70g (one g lighter than an HD Rocket). That info plus photos of all these razors are at Chris' Rocket page here:
http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9206
P.S. I should say my Parat is my favourite shaver, better than my HD Rocket. So assuming the second here is the same as a Parat 1.) there are at least two versions of the Aristocrat Jr and 2.) a German Parat is bloody good value, as it's basically an Aristocrat Jr. Or, more likely, a Parat's been put in an Aristocrat Jr's box . . . .

It *is* lovely.
But then he also paid $250 dollars for it.
No-one got lucky. (Except the seller.)
Or am I missing the point and just being grumpy?

It know 3 different Aristocrat jr:
1948 Brit.Pat. 430.030, solid base, without endcaps
1949 Brit.Pat. 430.030, solid base, with endcaps
1953 Patent Pending, same razor as Rocket (not Parat)

And that would be the one with the diamond base, correct?

Oh, I've cheered up a bit now.
Interesting that the second A.Jr. is the same as a Rocket: is there any difference? Does it have a knob bigger than the shaft?
(I think I do )

Yes, the knob is bigger than the shaft, like Rocket style. On the Parat the knob is the same like the shaft

Great pickup Achim, thanks for posting this nice razor. As I have the same razor, it is good to know the Number for this set.
Another piece of the jigsaw puzzle solved.

Beautiful razor and great pickup. I wish my case was as pristine as yours. Excellent shaver. Would you post a pic of the inside of the case? I am guessing the lining is 'green' rather than 'blue'
