If you use your lather catcher exclusively for a while, do you have trouble using any other razors? It seems that the LC just shaves like a dream, but the others need a bit more attention. Otherwise it is irritation city, just wondered if any others have this issue, or if it is just me. And yes I know I have issues with RAD, SCAD, SBAD, SSAD, and too many other things to mention......

Now I know for a fact that there are more LC users then just Dave and I. Come on, fess up the rest of you!

Okay, I admit it. Every night in chat, I tell the guys that I am about to go back to DE. I come back 30 minutes later with another 1912 shave under my belt.

I'd use a lather catcher, but I haven't acquired one... yet!

I bought a nice one from the BST. I've only used it a few times, but I enjoy it. I might have to do a week of lather catching

I have not trouble switching between types of razors.

Jerry, I use a Gem Jr. Bar lather catcher razor almost exclusively now. I only shave with something else occasionally to satisfy my curiosity about another razor in my collection.

I don't know as I have any trouble shaving with other razors, but I haven't found any razor that I like as well as the 1900/1901 patent bar razor.

As hard as it is to believe, I seriously don't think there have been any improvements made in razor design since the turn of the last century. There have been a lot of good designs, but none that I have tried perform better than that old Gem Jr. Bar. :001_smile

Here's the pic of that old guy that the seller used on Ebay . . . There is a note in the case presenting the razor to someone as a prize in a skeet match in 1913 . . . kind of interesting. The razor looks and works like new except the plating is pretty much all worn off of the bar. I suspect that skeet shooter had a lot of great shaves from his prize.

Regards,
Tom

I don't find any issues going back and forth between Lather Catchers and DE razors at all. suspect it's because over time I've learned the ins and outs of them all....
