Crystal Quality Variation

I used Crystals for quite a while before I ran low and decided to check out the new blades on the market. Well, I eventually came back and my first blade was fantastic. My second blade was terrible. It pulled and pulled. Tossed it and loaded another, great shave. Every other blade has been a bad one. This morning, I had one that had a great edge on one side and a bad one on the other. I found the sames behavior with a Fat Boy, Tech and NEW. Is any one else seeing the same thing? It is even more frustrating because I have a back ground in quality control. Are the red packs any better?

I don't want to dissuade anyone from buying these blades. When they're good, they're great. It does not look like anyone else has had issues with them. So I must have gotten a bad pack. I don't recall having issue with my first hundred. The vendor says he has not heard of any problems either.

I used them for about a year and loved them. Then I switched to the Gillette 7 o'clock green packs (Russian). Since then whenever I load in a Crystal (just used a brand new one tonight), the shaves seem rather sub-par. Very forgiving blade (no nicks), but not very sharp and the shave wasn't as close as usual. I don't think I'll be buying these anymore...they are just not sharp enough.
