Got some NOS Blue Blades with King Gillette's lovely face looking out at me.

All individually wrapped.

Are these safe and good to use?

Do blades deteriorate and/or are these not much cop in the first place?

Don't want to risk it without asking!

Thanks

Even when new these blades were not nearly as comfortable to use as the later stainless steel blades with coatings. Have they deteriorated? It all depends on how they've been stored through the years. I have tried the blade you are describing and it was capable of one or two shaves. They were uncomfortable shaves but not tortuous.

Ah yes, those are the blades which convinced me to give up shaving and grow a full beard in 1970. Kept it for 38 years

Ollie, those Blue Blades have more value as a display than as a dependable cutting edge. I would say that the Super Blue Blades from around 1960 are the earliest truly quality blades that can be used with pleasure. But, even these are worth more NOS as a collectible than as a user grade blade.
