Hi all -
I'm looking to pick up a couple more aftershaves. Alcohol-based products tend to dry me out, even when used with a moisturizer afterwards. Even Thayer's "witch hazel" with its 10% alcohol dries me out.
I've narrowed down my choices to:
1) Speick lotion (I know it's alcohol-based, but I've heard the other components make up for it)
2) Provence Sante green tea
3) SCS Lavender ASM
Which 2 would you pick (or suggest others along the same lines and price points)?
Thanks.

The SCS Lavender ASM is very nice
The Speick is good, too, but after using it for a while I found that the alcohol was a bit drying. It's not nearly as bad as other alcohol-based products, however, which I generally can't use.

Might be good to know what you've already tried.
Offhand, Proraso ASB springs to mind as my first recommendation in your situation.

Good point.
I have, and love, two Wesley & Scott balms - Lime and Clove & peppermint. I've tried Booster Jickey, which I hated the smell of and it dried the crap out of me. I've tried samples of The Gentlemen's Refinery, and I thought they were fine, but not worth the cost. They felt a little tacky on me.
Just looking for something a little different.
I'm not a huge fan of the proraso smell. It's not offensive, and I know the smell doesn't linger, but if I can find something that at least smells nice when going on, then that's a plus. That's part of the reason I'm intrigued by the Provence Sante Green Tea - the scent sounds amazing.

In that case, perhaps you'd enjoy QED's stuff. I have the texas cedarwood. Beautifully scented, and frankly a bit thick for my tastes (a little goes a very long way), but it might just be right up your alley.
I just received my first SCS balm (Dagger) yesterday, so haven't had a chance to give it a whirl. Seems like a good option based on the reviews here, though, and I do enjoy the scent.
Good luck in your quest!

I have Speick and Provence Sante. They are both amazing. Both contain wonderful healing ingredients for your skin. Both are contenders for my top spot.
Speick has very little burn and the scent fades after a couple of hours. It leaves my face smooth and fresh. My wife loves the scent.
PS has absolutely no burn. The scent seems to last several hours. This is one of the more soothing, calming scents in the world. It goes on smooth and provides a TON of moisturizing. This is probably due to the shea butter.
In a nutshell, I love Speick in the summer and PS in the winter.

Proraso ASB is not bad, but it does have Witch Hazel, which contains alcohol.
If I use it everyday, it can be a little drying

I'd say the Musgo Real splash is definitely in that category. Or try their balsam (balm).
