Guys ... I've been looking for the review of this aftershave but it was nowhere to be found. Does anyone of you use sandalwood aftershave (Trumper's or any other - if other please specify)? I found that it has some great healing attributes. I read the review of Taylor's Sandalwood AS but after reading it I am in doubt ....
I found quite interesting AOS Sandalwood ASB (http://www.gentlemans-shop.com/acatalog/art-of-shaving-sandalwood-aftershave-balm.html#a154) .... but the price is .... IMHO more than too much

I have a sample of Trumper's sandalwood cologne, but not the aftershave. It is the most pleasant cologne I have ever used. Maybe slightly too sweet, but otherwise heavenly. I am almost addicted to it - my favorite days of the week are the days I am wearing it.

Do you mean the Sandalwood Cologne? I didn't know Trumpers made A/S other than their skin food of course.
I have the Cologne, and it's lovely. It's much stonger scent than any of my other colognes, and you have to be careful not to put too much on. That said it's a lovely scent, I put it on sometimes even if I'm not going out - as I just like the smell of it so much.

D.R. Harris is the king of sandalwood aftershaves. Mini-review here (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4729&highlight=trio+harris).
For a Sandalwood balm, I use both AOS and C&E and both are quality products. The AOS is creamier and more moisturizing, but the C&E absorbes quickly and leaves your skin matte.

I just whipped up some of Mama Bear (Sue's) Sandalwood Vanilla and it's AMAZING stuff. I've tried the C&E Sandalwood and it's not even close to this. I can't vouch for the AOS though, but you should really give mama bear's a try.

i've been playing with the alum block since christmas. it is certainly an acquired taste, but it is definitely becoming a part of my shaving routine. i also have to thank all of you for the mama bears reccomendations - my favorite christmas present to myself ever (i got 4 of them and they get alternated throughout the week)
