Today I drug the wife out to some antique stores with me, and managed to find an "Ambo-Stahl" Solingen #64 razor and a W.H. Morley & Sons (Clover Brand, Germany).
Anyone have any background on them?
From what I can find, the WH Morley sounds like it good be a great shaver if it's cleaned up and honed. Unfortunatly one of the scales is broken off just on the top of the pin, so it flops around a bit and hits the scales when closing. I was too concerned with the condition of the blade, that I completely overlooked this in the store. :blushing:
The Ambo-Stahl is almost like new. I want to give it a cleaning and to be honest, I'm almost positive I could shave with it right now. (I could be sadly mistaken though). All I've been able to find on Ambo is that they're apparently a steel machining/fabricator in Germany. Oh, it also has "SMF" listed near the 64.
Pics to come sometime tomorrow....Hopefully.
