Went to an antique show at the convention center with lots of vendors. Absolutely bubkiss for the most part but found this beauty. Absolutely NOS injector. It looks like an E-type but I'm no expert. If anyone can pin it down for me (i.e. E type, and if so which of the 1-5), I'd be most grateful.
The injector boxes have not even been cracked.

Looks like an E4 (http://www.safetyrazors.net/schick/schicktech.htm).

Going by the two patent numbers on the underside of the head, it would be a G series. A seam down a plastic handle would also indicate a G series. The E series handles were bakelite with no seam. IMHO, it's an early G1 since I see no mention of Eversharp, who bought the rights to the injector in 1946. I have a G1, which has the Eversharp name on the outer cardboard box, but nowhere else:

I think you nailed it Shave Cat. When I looked more closely at the handle it is indeed plastic with a seam. I discounted the G altogether because of no mention of Eversharp so didn't look for that. Thanks.
Does that mean I have a mismatched razor and box do you think as it seems the G came in the brown/cream box, not the red one.

This is interesting. I recently bought a setup EXACTLY like this. A NOS razor in the same box with the same directions, but it didn't have the blades. Like yours, it's got parallel grooves on the gaurd and a cream plastic handle with the seam, but "Schick Injector" on the rivet washer, not "Eversharp Schick." It still had the dummy blade in it. I'd been extremely curious what was going on with it, whether it was just a mismatched box or what. I'm dying to know what's up with it.

You know, that's not an easy question in this case. The info on that Schick dating website is not official. Even the type designations such as E1 or G1 are model designations given to the various Schick injector razors by the website's author. My razor came in a case, surrounded by a pasteboard box. The box you have appears to have been intended to house the razor for sale without a case. So, maybe it is the correct box. I just don't know. Your injector would seem to be from the mid to late 1940s, before Eversharp began putting their name on the rivet washer. You must keep in mind that sometimes razor manufacturers would intermix old and new parts as models or ownership of the company changed. For instance, there is a model referred to as the G8 that has the standard G series head, but a handle shaped like those used on the I series. It's kind of an in between model that was regular production, but evidently only for a short time. Perhaps it was made to see how well the public accepted the new handle.

Actually, there were plastic handles on some injectors before the Eversharp take-over, but not too common. These handles were made from low grade resin and tended to go bad over time (shrink, warp, get sticky, and rarely stay nice and pretty). Appleby's site does not make reference to it.

Think of the time period as well. 1945-46 saw a rush of consumer production as the war ended. Usually the prewar design was started up (with changes made either by a lack of certain materials or changes made in the product due to wartime production). It makes sense that Schick would have started cranking up production of this razor in 1945-46. You seem to have a 1945-46 razor (especially since you have blades in a 20 pack that have the same outside packaging as my WWII blades that have the dispensers that are painted black, but yours may be like the ones in the Eversharp picture (i.e. not painted) being that blackout paint would no longer be needed with the war being over).
When Eversharp bought Schick, they could easily add their name to the Cardboard wrapper (1946-47)-- more substantive changes would come later......

Good stuff guys. Thanks.
I peaked inside the injector boxes and they are brass with no mention of Eversharp on them.

What would a razor like that cost or be worth in that condition?

I paid 24 bucks for it but don't have a great sense of what it is worth.
