So now would be the time to tell me any horror stories you might have about EJ brushes.

I've decided that while my Tweezerman is really nice, the fit and finish on my particular Tweezerman wasn't as good as most of the ones I've seen pictured (though I don't care for the price it was). I wanted something a bit nicer as I hear it does make the whole lathering experience nicer, etc, but I really don't want silvertip. I figured I'd order my brush and put it on the shelf to open the day the semester ends as an added incentive, and as a way to torture myself while waiting... At any rate I was going to get an EJ Best, but then I saw this (super) beauty...

Yes. I'm obsessed, and its EVERYONE'S FAULT okay?

You people are killing me.

well, the C&E BBB seems to be well liked, and it is made by EJ. I like that red handle.

I was originally going for a EJ BBB for that very reason, but then I saw this beauty and the wheels started turning. The red colour made me start thinking about changing my price bracket from tight wad college student to tight wad college student claiming the item to be purchased was going to be used for years to come and was therefore some sort of an uhm... "investment."

I love red... it's my favorite colour and there are very few things I wouldn't get in red given the chance. It's a really nice looking red too. To top it off, I'm using a red stand from ssilcox, so I think it's going to look really hot on the counter top. And its super badger! Rationalization rules!

So... yeah. It's an investment!

I found EJ's super to be extremely floppy. I prefer their best badger. I do like that red handle, but not enough to choose super over best.

I love EJ brushes. They are the only brand I own.

The silvertip are a bit floppy, but man, they are soft, and they hold soap well. I love mine.

Here is a brush to consider:

I'm planning on picking one up to compliment my other EJ silvertip.

And if you like synthetics, they make the best synthetic brush, period.

I had self control... I almost ordered some English soaps straight from England while I was at it, but thought better and told myself no soaps for now :P

Besides the brush was an investment!

An investment always appreciates in value. So, no, sorry, this is not an investment.

That said, however, it is an instrument that will help you shave better, and make you more relaxed throughout the day. As such, it is an investment in your health. When you factor the exfoliating properties of said brush combined with the salutary effects of the soaps you are using, one can clearly make a strong case that this purchase was done strictly for present and future health benefits.

Thanks for taking my case... the public defender was doing a terrible job!

And yes you're right this investment is about as far from being an investment as is possible since once I use it the value will drop sharply. I will however enjoy it and the lather it will produce :P

I know. I can't for the life of me figure out why they don't sell the Silvertip in a red handle... I didn't want silvertip but I'm sure someone would want a red one. I can understand not selling best in red... makes people wnat to buy super :P

I had forgotten about the red barber pole....

I got my 23C instead because the red and blue barber poles do not have any sort of ridges to hold on to when it's wet and I decided I wanted a 23c anyways. In retrospect I would have gotten a chrome barber pole but oh well.

I can resist the urge to get another razor for now :P

Now if they started making a red barber pole slant with cross hatches, I'd start breathing a bit heavier....
