Thumbnotch added, reworked the tip bevel, and rescaled in Paduak.
Shaving with it tonight!
Takes a nice edge:

Nice work, as always, Seraphim.
How did you finish those scales? I'm about to get started on a pair of DA's and another restoration. I'm looking at trying my hand at making wooden scales, but I want to be sure to get the wood sealed properly.

CA, otherwise known as superglue. You put on a few coats, then sand it down smooth and polish it up. Kind of a pain to work with, but it gives a bombproof, glossy finish when done.

Its that simple, huh? Does it alter the color of the wood at all?

Simple, yes. But not easy (you are working with superglue, so sticky fingers, scales sticking to things ytou don't want them to, etc, etc, etc....):frown:

Excellent work! BRAVO!!
I applaud your vision and craftsmanship. It took both of them, as well as not a little bit of "guts", to remove the belly of the shank and create that thumbnotch.
I also sing the praises of your "gunstock" rescale design. Not only does the reduced profile match the shank, but is utilitarian, as well (when the razor is held in the traditional "backwards-'L'", it leaves room for an additional finger [or two] on the blade's spine, affording better balance and/or control).
BRILLIANT!
