Shaving with left hand

Or, in my sinistral case, my no-dominant right hand.

After much consideration, I've concluded that not only am I unable to shave with my right hand, I can barely apply lather with it!:frown:

Guess I'm doomed to a life of tortuous contortions.

Certain things were not meant to be done with either hand......I'm a one hand guy. Go with the comfort zone....

I started shaving with a straight about 4 or 5 weeks ago, initially it felt awful shaving with my left hand but I stuck at it as I was told you get used to it. Now I'm just as comfortable shaving with either hand. It's not like writing where you use your fingers a lot, shaving is mainly from the wrist/arm.

I actually cut myself less with the left hand when I was learning too, I assume becuse I used less pressure with that hand as it's not the dominant hand.

Ditto. I started playing around with a Feather a few weeks ago and at first found my incredibly incoordinated attempts to be downright dangerous. I almost never tried it a second time, but after a week the improvement was extraordinary and after two weeks I was comfortable. Although I'm still not proficient, it's become something I'm comfortable with - but having said that, I've never had any difficulties lathering with my non-dominant hand so of course YMMV...

Try brushing your teeth with your right hand for a week or two.

I dislocated my shoulder and had my arm strapped to my body for over a month. This forced me to do everything left handed. I have no problem using either hand for shaving. I think I do better when I use my off-hand.

Try doing other things with your off hand like write a page out of the chateau d'ictionary. Real slow at first but with the effort I bet you can shave with it by the end of the month.

same here, couldn't possibly shave with my left hand but I don't have problems reaching everything I wanna reach with my right, so that's that for me. :001_smile
